Taking a guess on it, but I'm guessing it's a custom box from James Randy Taylor at tech12volts. Looks similar to mine.

While I can appreciate the sentiment of that thought, the truck I got was not exactly easy to come by. In fact, I had to have it shipped from Utah because four South East toyota dealers told me it did not exist.

None the less, I'm certainly disappointed... I haven't even made the first payment on the thing yet. Lol

You couldn't just remove the small square access hole to change your oil, you had to remove the whole skidplate?

Went old school detailing this weekend. Started off with Adams Iron Remover. Crazy how many iron deposit were on the new paint. Followed that with CG Honeydew Snow Foam wash.

Then is when the real fun began. First off I broke out the Nanoskin Foam Pad and clayed the car. First experience with using this and I have to say I really liked it. Got to break in the pad on your glass first and I used Nanoskin Glide as my lube for the pad.

Next we this is where I went old school. I've always liked Duragloss products because they are simple and they just work. In todays world there are so many products and a guy can go broke trying them all. First off I used Duragloss 501. Super easy to lay it down and by the time I got the first coat down it was time to take it off which worked quickly with a micro towel.

Then the following day I used Duragloss 105 Polish mixed with Duragloss 601 Polishing Bonding Agent. You can mix this in a 4 to 1 ratio saving you an extra step. Just put in a bottle and shake it up and off you go. I let if flash for about 4 hours before removing it with a micro cloth.

Got to say I was very happy with the results and it was miles ahead of what it came with from the dealer.

There isn't a square access hole in the stock skid plate. The TRD skid plate, and RCI skid plates have it, though.

I dealt with the stock sheet metal skid for 1 oil change, then immediately found a used Pro skid for sale. $200 to make my life easier was worth it, plus the added protection of the Pro skid.

CarPro DLux. It’s a plastic coating and will restore and keep it that way for up to 1+ year. I’ve applied it to new plastic and it never faded over 3 years. I’ve applied it to faded plastic and it restores and protects for a lot longer than 1 month. The true solution. Application is a bit more finicky but worth it to me.

Hydro2 by itself won’t last through the winter. It’s some light stuff, good for topping Reload or I have relegated Hydro2 to spray sealant for my wheels only. Not a big fan of it, but love the rest of CarPro line. The better product to use to try and make it last all winter would be Reload. You can buy tester bottles from CarPro-us.com I think- that may be good for the first time to see how you like it because Reload is a little pricey...but it might make it through the winter, depending on how you maintain the truck.

    Just my 2 cents

I've used hydro2 before and I like it. Applied itAugust, October and Feb last year and it help up well. I put reload on 2 weeks ago and may do it again in a couple months but right now my plan is hydro2 before the snow flies and again when I can get a warm enough day

Yea topping it up mid-winter may work. Curious on how you end up liking Reload. I need to do that or a later of Jescar Power Lock Plus here soon. Haven’t decided which. I should just coat the truck, but I did that to my last one and it was a major PITA. I do need to IronX and clay/nanoscrub my truck too, so i’ll Have to run the polisher over it to get any marring off....this is why I said I “need to” Reload or PL+, and not “I have” :) :D

Surprisingly, I have a vehicle coated with CQUK2 and CQ TiO2 and I didn’t like how hyrdo2 applied on either of them. They were also topped with Reload, but it was a bummer for me. Just my experience. Works great as a wheel spray sealant tho :D

hydro2 worked well last year and is easy to apply. Should be even better over reload. Not sure what issues you had during application of it but it cant be done in the sun or if Carlos hot. Also needs to be diluted. I think I found 1:6-1:10 range worked best

I really like the reload alot so far. Only been on a few weeks though. Goes on easy and looks great.
