Heat gun or blow dryer and use heavy fishing line to cut behind it.
After, use goof off or something similar to remove the residue.

Pro trip: use masking tape to tape around it before you remove it, so you know it's back in the factory location.

Guys here are using fishing string (kinda saw back and forth). Then use goo gone to get the sticky stuff off.

Like the others have said ... I used 20lb test fishing line using a see saw motion just behind the emblem. I didn't have to use any heat. Afterwards it was easy enough to just rub the excess tape off with my finger. I used a little bit of wax to clean everything before mounting my new emblem.

I had a hell of a time getting mine off. I had to buy some 3m adhesive remover and still took a couple hours to get all that shit off! I'd like to order those black ones myself.

The waxed Dental Floss also works very well...if you don't have a heat gun, Mama's blow dryer will help. No need to get things real hot, but if you warm it up it comes off much easier. Adhesive remover from the auto paint supply will get rid of the residue if it is being stubborn.

Don't de badge. Keep chrome...............Seriously, do the above. Most success seems to be with fishing line and a blow dryer. (Don't use too much heat)

Yeah, some good tips here. Next I'm going to figure out how to color match those bumpers.

We have a heat gun at work that I use as a load to test Bio-Med safety analyzers. I vary the output to draw the required 10 amp load. It can get really super hot. A blow dryer should be OK. You might be able to get some one to color match your bumpers with some serious powder coat or Line X. A thought.

I'm just thinking about having them painted if that's an option...

Of course paint is a good option. I have a feeling you will be hitting WY outback. Sage brush and paint doesn't mix as far as longevity, let alone plasti dip. I've seen some Rhino'd/Line X'd bumpers and they looked good and should be highly resistant to scratches. I guess it depends on where you plan on taking your Tundra. (Budget too.) Someone else will chime in , I'm sure.

Hmmm. Sounds like I have some options. I didn't even think about rhino line.

You have a lot of options. Start a new separate thread about your concerns about bumper options. A lot of guys here have utilized what I have mentioned concerning what they did with their bumpers. Can't hurt.

Actually why not start a build thread? That way we can "help" address anything you need to know on one thread. My build thread is pretty much a dump all whatever thread anyways.

If you check out my thread, I had my grille and hood bulge Rhino lined and it turned out great. It was also half the price I was quoted by the local paint shop to color match. Bugs come right off with little to no elbow grease and looks much more aggressive.

Go to a gas station car wash. Took me about 4 minutes of backing up and moving forward to get in between the sensors. And found out after that 1 of my badges had been torn off and a license plate cover torn in half.

I hadn't thought of that.:frusty: When I got my Tundra I went to the drive thru car wash where I used to take my Taco. Didn't fit.
