Thoughts on SPYDER headlights?

Are the LED highlights (SPYDER) better than the stock headlights as far as night vision? What are the best out there?

I've read a thread about being able to swap the leveling motor to the Spyder headlights, but is that for them all or just one specific model?

 

They are better when you add an HID kit to them.
2018 led headlight are better , way better. Lights can be bought at local dealer or @Roman and you'll need a harness from @iHacker. You won't regret it. For a couple hundred more than spyders

 

Oops. I see you have a 2011. So spyders may be the way to go with an hid kit.
You'll need 2018 sequoia lights and ahatness from @xrunnerdude67 and it's very costly. Like 1400 bucks or so I think.

 

Or new Sequoia headlights would be nice

 

my understanding is if you burn the LED light on the 2018 headlights, you need to change the whole assembly. That could be very costly if you went with the Sequoia.
the Spyder gen 2 with LED/HID lights might be your best bet for a gen 2.

 

I have heard of 2 cases with a high beam going out. If this continues, I'd assume Toyota will jump in and do a tsb or increase the warranty. They made these to last a lifetime and I'd assume they'll honor that

 

Do the spyder lights have a lit side marker light like stock lights or just a reflector?
I'm mainly shopping because my lens are fogged and the light is crap.

Yes there is. I think someone did a write up on here. It's not too hard, just a jumper wire I believe.

 

I agree and I did the 2018 upgrade through @Roman with @iHacker s plug, it was incredibly easy.

 

So I bought and had the spyder headlights installed. They look awesome but is it just me or is the light output/brightness ten times worse than the stock headlights? I got these to improve my night visibility not decrease it lol. Is there a way to adjust these or anything? Any info is greatly appreciated!

 

I’m still trying to get them adjusted correctly. Kind of a pain in the butt. Do they look great? Yes. Do I think I had better lighting with the factory’s. Yes.

 

I’m working the same thing! Kind of frustrating. Kinda wish I just got a led or hid kit for the factory setup

 

Yes I agree also I added LEDs and is much better than the ones they came with but not as good as my stock assembly's with LEDs

 

Well crap. If the stock eith LEDs are brighter than I might as well save myself $400 and keep those with LEDs instead of having the spyder. I was really only looking for more night visibility. Thanks for the replies gentlemen!

Get an HID kit for the spyders. Several reviews saying they do much better with HIDs than LEDs.
