sorry for another thread, I’ve been reading until I’m blue in the face.

I ordered the 3” eibach kit, and I’ve decided I want to run 35’s. Haven’t decided on 18’s or 20’s yet, but I don’t mind the bmc and some trimming on an 800 mile old truck.

Anyways, it seems like I’m reading around +20 would get me flush with the stock fenders, and I can probably push that out to 0 offset if I get some bushwackers...

But then I see stuff like this that’s -18, so I get all confused again!!

Alright, thanks for the reply. I’m looking for something a little more aggressive.

Good heavens! I was way off...

These pics where taken the day I put the 37's on. I wanted taller, narrower tires for a more stock look but obviously bigger. IMG_0522.jpgBBT.jpg

Aggressive will mean wearing out your front end, bearings, and rubbing the truck with the tires. Then lots of cursing and spending more money to fix all of your problems.

Great point. I guess I don’t want to go overly aggressive. Maybe I ditch the higher offset and don’t do the bushwackers... Which is fine, it’d save me money.

If I go that route though, it seems like I’ve seen a lot of +20 offsets will poke out just slightly.

Honestly what I’m looking for is a concave rim, and I’m having trouble finding one.

I really like these fuel beasts:

But it looks like the tundra pattern only comes in 20x9, which won’t look nearly like that...

I built my truck to go down the highway and actually be able to pull stuff. Ive got 40k miles now on that set of Nittos since I put them on last year in the Spring. TONS of tread left with tree trips up and down the Alcan Highway (Dallas,Texas to Anchorage, Alaska).

Been running 65psi and balance and rotate every 5k along with an oil change and drive shafts lube. No issues at all with weird front or rear tire wear. No front end issues, not having to re-align the front end, nothing in the way of problems, swearing, or spending more money to fix anything.

Truck has also been re-geared front and rear diffs to 4:88's and Ive got an Alburn Limited Slip Diff in the rear end.

    Lost track after #1.
If you happen to have the TSS package and the 20" wheels then the offset is +50.

To figure out what offset I needed in order to be flush I ended out tying a nail to the end of some string and taped it to the outside of one of the flares so it hung down over the middle of the center cap on the wheel. Then I measured from the outside of the tire to the string. Once I had that distance I played around with the wheel offset calculator at:

I trust that the Toyota engines got the wheel off set RIGHT the first time so I stuck with their decision. Has worked perfectly for my needs.

18's are cheaper as many say. I personally like the 20s though. I dont offroad enough to need a 18" rim so i will have more sidewall. With a 3" lift, u can run 35" tire, but may need to trim some. From my experience a numerically higher offset may require less or no trimming. +60 is a factory size...+25 to +30 is a good number. Many run smaller than that. I ran a 2.5" front level on my previous 2015 crewmax with 295/70/18 with a +18 offset and had to do the bmc and trim inner front bumper. My current 2018 limited i will be running a 3/1.5 kit with 35/12.50/20 on a wheel with +30 offset. Hope to have done by end of the week.

That makes sense. Already prepped for the BMC and trimming, I’m not worried about that. Sounds like something in the +20 or so offset would be ideal if I’m not going to run fender flares.

That looks great. From what I can tell, running 0 offset with fender flares should sit about flush with the fender flares. Is that what you’re seeing with yours?

+20 or +25 seems to be the sweet spot for these trucks.
