I was just looking under my dash and this button is there. No idea what it is, kind of scared to push it... Does it look familiar to anyone?

    Cheers!

Do you have a aftermarket alarm? Could be the button to disarm the alarm when you put the key in the accessory position if you misplace the remote.

I am pretty sure that's not OEM, so maybe an aftermarket alarm or immobilizer button, or a plug-in trailer brake connector. I would go with aftermarket alarm or immobilizer if I had to guess.

    I love the replies!

I don't have an alarm that I know of. My worry is that it would immobilize the truck. I do not have a brake controller, so that likely isn't it. Does anyone have a wiring diagram I could maybe see which wires it's connected to and what they do?

I've seen some REALLY creative hidden compartments that drug cartels have done on various TV shows. I have to wonder if auto manufacturers and aftermarket accessory installers ever use some of these ideas.

I guess it's time to pull out the multi-meter and see if it's getting any juice. May not be hooked into anything anymore.

That is a KARR alarm. It's a standard dealer installed item that costs them $15 dollars to buy and they charge hundreds of dollars as a dealer installed option. Most dealers that use them install them on every vehicle on the lot (even ones with factory alarms like a Tundra) and them talk it up as a top of the line system, or just hope the idiot buyer doesn't notice it on the sales contract.
When I bought my truck I had them write that not only would they remove every last bit of the POS, but they would also install a new interior trim panel to replace the one they drilled holes in to install that little button.

Bingo. I got no additional info since it's a 2009 and was at an Acura dealer's used lot. I will read the article you linked!

100%, that's it. I had the same one on my '14 Tundra. So lame that dealers basically tell you they "can't" remove it "for insurance purposes". So annoying.
