What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Took the dash almost all the way apart then said I'm not dealing with this and I made my truck into a spray booth!

 

Lol yup that's what keeps me from painting my ac rings. Think the tvd decals will have to do in time. Looks great blacked out though.

 

I blew through 5 of them on one vent trying to get them perfect. That's when I said the hell with it and sprayed it lol

 

Tint installed 20% doors, 50% full windshield, and 20% sunroof. Huge difference in keeping the truck cool. Replaced all the interior lights, cargo, and license plate with LEDs.
Shorty antenna installed. Nothing you all haven’t seen before.
Order placed for grill/bulge, end caps, handles, mirror caps, OEM door sill protector, and grab handle from Roman. Bumper combo led light bar and bracket from Caliraised. Bumper spacers from Boss 4x4s(prepping for lift and tires).
Plan is to have the limited insert painted matte black and sell the pro grill with chrome surround. Thoughts?

 

Exactly what I ran into. It would lay flat until about 5 o'clock then the wrinkles started....I have one left....I'm thinking I'll trim it like you said and try it out.

 

I may do this with my steering wheel emblem maybe plastidip. Theres no other good way

Nope its attached in a weird way because of air bags and needs to be glued back on. Dont really wanna mess with it

It's just something I've done a few times. I got into making my own tac gear several years back, so that provided a bit of confidence to give it a try.

 

Did you get the radio letters off ebay/ Amazon?

 

Sorry not the emblem...I layed plastic everywhere and sprayed my ac vent while bit was still attached.

I agree about the little volume button. I thought the same thing after I did mine.
I thought about just detail painting or plasti-dipping.
I carbon-vinyl wrapped my column arms, so the volume button is a little tight. Adding more to it or plasti-dipping could make it a bit unusable.

I'm waiting on some new vinyl to come in to replace what's on there now. When I do, I'll sand around the opening a bit to make room for the vinyl and then paint/plasti-dip.

 

Thanks bro. In thinking about using a paint pen and color the hell out out of it and see how it looks. I would royally screw the vinyl up. Good idea with making the notch a little bigger. I wanna see it when its done!

TVD Vinyl Decals

 

I'm thinking I'll do the sill, radio, and tailgate red, which red did u go with? Think couple options. The ac rings think matte black.

 

Just the plain red. Matches the red T in the TSS decal really closely. If you're going to take off the a/c rings and paint them matte black you might want to take a look at this paint.

It's about as flat as you can get. I used it on another vehicle and it turned out awesome. If I end out painting anything in my interior I'll be using that again.

 

Yeah no paint. I got a local shop doing an attempt to hydrodip on my chrome cupholder ring and the trd pro stock shifter knob. Should be getting those parts back anyway now. They've had them for a week now so I'm expecting a call very soon to come pick them up. It's going to be silver/gray in color and look like small riveted pieces of metal sticking together. Guess we'll see how it turns out. If I don't like it I already got a plan B. I wanted to try something different that I haven't seen anyone have or attempt to do. I gave them what I thought was a really cool original idea, whether or not they can put my plan/vision to life and whether it will look good when complete will be up to them.

For the door sill, the radio letters, and the tailgate in red, along with the ac vents in black, I plan to do all this with the decals from tvd. That plus some trd pro stickers on the door handles I'm hoping satisfies my desires on the inside for a while. Other shit I still want to do inside but I'm hoping I can put the rest on ice until I get bigger more expensive things done on the outside I feel much more important/time sensitive.

I got much more important imo things to be done on the outside that I need to focus on next when I got some extra scratch to spend. I plan to put either some bd s2 pros in clear or amber either under the rear bumper or into the bumper flush mount with them or some squadrons. I need extra reverse and work area scene lighting soon as the clocks set back, all I know 4 sure is they will be BD brand and in work scene lens. Color(clear or amber), type pair of (s2 pro or squadron pro), and mount location (under or flush in bumper) I'm not sure yet, but need to decide soon. I also need some sliders. I'm guessing I'll purchase them after the BD lights then sell my current linexed magnum rt steps. After lights and sliders, I'll finally install the train horns that have been sitting in the garage for months now. All that plus a couple other parts I got laying around sprinkled in is going to make me broke and busy.

 

I hear ya. Those a/c rings sound cool (no pun intended), can't wait to see how they turn out.

 

I already have wiring run to come on in reverse auto or on demand by in cab switch. If anyone has any advice on location whether under bumper or in bumper with some s2's or squadron pros and if anyone knows of a great deal on either please let me know. The only thing I'm dead set on is them being baja designs s2's or squadrons definitely prefer the pro model and work scene area lens.

Please do tell me someone got a pair or know someone looking to sell a pair on a deal I cant refuse.

 

Installed LED’s in my Headlights yesterday.

 

Hauled about a cord of wood from a co workers house to the maple sugar shack. Truck and 6x12 trailer full. Truck handled great, barely noticed the load.

 

Took her up in the mountains last night.
