Hello. Coming from a 1st year 3rd gen Tacoma to a Tundra. Traded in my 3rd gen OR DCSB manual for a 1794 crew max. I was one of the first on the tacoma world forums to build and purchase a turd gen.....after wheels, tires, lift, skids, sliders, tune, etc I had enough and decided to finally trade for the proven 5.7. I was tired of towing my 19' camper and struggling to climb around here in Colorado. Anyway I love the Tundra and wish I would have just started with one haha. I have big plans for the Tundra and can't wait to get rolling. Tha ke for having me y'all. Here are the 2 trucks:)

Starting small atm. Have a trd pro grille otw, to simmer down all the damned chrome haha, HID heads, and led fogs. Would like to get into some 18's and Cooper STT pros next with either King or Icon lift and some AAL's.....of course a work in progress, I'm a working man lol

Welcome. Drove my dad's 2016 Tacoma, 3.5 V6, automatic, 2wd, SR5 extra cab, really nice truck in terms of refinement, handling, and ride. Man did it drive/handle/ride nice for a truck IMO. Drove that for a day or two while my 2011 Tundra 4wd, 4.6 V8 was in the shop. There were THREE big things I hated about that truck that would drive me straight back to my Tundra

#1 Seat position/ergonomics. Seating position just flat out sucks IMO, you ride with your legs splayed out long in front of you like you are in a Miata or in one of my old 4th gen Camaros. Dad's truck was automatic, I could not find a comfortable place for my left leg, best place was up against the power window switch cocked at a 90 degree angle. The cushy but bolt upright, sitting in a kitchen chair position like in my Tundra, I find that upright position way more comfortable.

#2 3.5 V6 with a good hp rating has absolutely no balls at low-mid range RPM. All the power is between 4000-6000rpm. Step on it, it straight up moves, but this truck is kind of like Dr Jekyl/Mr Hyde. AKA Honda VTEC, you rev the nuts off it, it straight up boogies. You drive it like a normal car and it feels like a slug.

#3 You don't have to spend a lot more $$$$ to get a Tundra, new or used. Lot more truck, don't have to deal with that stupid 3.5 V6/automatic combo, Tundra is just a lot more truck, only thing is its harder to park.

Drove dad's Tacoma for 2 days, dash display said 20mpg driving a 50/50 mix of in town and freeway at 60-75mph. Best MPG I've done in my 2011 Tundra, 4.6 V8, 4wd, is 15mpg, that's with about 50/50 driving highway and in town. Though I will say that the "interstate" I drive in nashville is a lot of 20mph to 70mph back to crawling, back to 40-70mph, back to crawling type of nonsense that uses a lot of gas.

    You have the right color:thumbsup:

I too got rid of all the chrome...color matched the front surround and bumper corners, swapped in the Pro Grill, swapped the black door handles and emblems.

I used Roman at Cool Springs to get the paint work done on the surround and corners.

I had a nice Tacoma and loved everything but the lack of balls for power. I love my Tundra. Everything but the gas mileage. Not bitching about the MPG, just don’t love the numbers.
