I order 2019 TRD Pro, do not know what the price will be other than Ill be paying msrp plus tax, tag and title.
Getting antsy to I went and looked at a 2018 Platinum, I went through Costo so I got a price of $46,551 before any fees. The Tundra has a window sticker of $53,643, the dealer added in some stupid package (nitrogen etc) for $1099 then a fee of $799. I am pretty sure I can get the fees removed (not TTL) so my question is, am I better off getting the platinum or wait for the TRD pro?

My ‘16 Pro had a sticker of $46,800, and I had to pay full MSRP to get it. No discounts. First time I paid full MSRP in a very long time. Some SoCal dealers were marking these TRD Pro’s up as much as 10K.
If an ‘18 Platinum has a sticker of $53,643, then a ‘19 Pro is probably going to be close in price. But who knows, since they didn’t build a Pro in 2018? I would choose the Pro because limited production (3000?) helps resale value. In terms of features, the Platinum is the winner, but Toyota may surprise with the new Pro. In my opinion, Toyota should build the Pro from a Platinum base, and not a plane vanilla SR5. I don’t even have auto headlights or auto up on the drivers window.

Platinum for sure. Especially at that price. You can add suspension and exhaust and drill be ahead of the game.

If I could get an 18 platinum for 46.5 right now I'd jump on it. I bet it lists at 52k+

I vote PRO but I’m biased. Basically what the others said. If you want bells and whistles then I’d go platinum. If you want a sporty off road truck and have no idea how to even build an off road vehicle then I’d suggest a PRO.

I paid MSRP also. No discounts on the PRO, but I also didn’t get the insane mark up like other dealers.

Tough call. You could add the pro suspension, wheels and tires and end up still less than a Pro.

I got a window sticker of 51,040 (includes delivery) MSRP for a 2019 Pro. This came emailed to me from my dealership in Austin.

Shoot me a PM if you want my email
Address and I’ll send it to you so you can see a window sticker

Im all about sportiness and I can appreciate not having to do much to the truck , vs changing out suspension etc..
Im coming from a 911 (currently for sale), I do have a well sorted FJ40 so Im not lacking a capable off road rig. The Tundra will be my DD, havent driven a TRD Pro so but I cant imagine its a whole lot different than the
Platinum? What I like most about the Pro is there are very few around and the resale is incredible.. but the Platinum seems to be almost as good for resale.

Anyone wanting a sweet 911 GTS, let me know :D

You want to be unique with the bed stamps, hood scoop, and don’t plan to upgrade Pro suspension, get the Pro. It’ll be a lot more than a discounted 2018 Platinum though.

If budget wasn’t a concern, I’d get a 2019 Pro, upgrade the audio and put a Diamondback on it.

Sick look, Toyota grill, blacked out LEDs, Rigid fogs, Fox shocks, etc

I want to see a pic of the PRO in black. That’s going to be my route.

    Black TRD PRO
    295/70r18 ridge grapplers
    Fuel Vector 18x9
NFAB RDS front bumper gloss black
NFAB RBS rear bumper gloss black
    40” midnight rigid bar
    Body color fender flares
    Ceramic coating
    SDHQ rock sliders
    SDHQ pro red steering wheel

Black out the bolts on the fender flares and black out the bumpers as well as the wheels. Gonna look sick!

There’s space behind the rear seats for a sub box, it can do a better amp and head unit, via Tech12V or ********* would be my route.

I have a pro and if I would do it again I would prob get a platinum for all the extra features. Don't get me wrong I love my pro, but most of the things that come on the pro you can add to any model anyways. I paid MSRP for mine with $0 mark-up. Save the cash and spend on mods. Shit if you want some pro wheels you can buy mine haha

That's my favorite (realistic) car of all time... If i wasn't in the middle of buying a new house and still recovering from buying the Mrs' Lexus, we'd be talking. As for Pro vs Plat... I like my creature comforts in a DD so i'd take the plat. Since you have the FJ, I'm inclined to think that would kick a pro's butt offroad?

Thank you!.. Dread selling it, but I never drive it.. FJ will probably be going bye bye too. Have a one year old so the 911 is not practical to put him in nor is the FJ40. The Tundra gives us the off road capability as well as being a good DD. I feel like if I get the Platinum then each time I see a Pro (which is not often), Im going to wish I had gotten it instead.
I have read some complaints about the Pro seats not being as comfortable as the Platinum, anyone care to chime in on that?

My wife’s 4Runner SR5 Premium has automatic windows up and down for EVERY window but no automatic headlights, she also has power passenger seat. My Tundra limited has Automatic headlights, only automatic up and down for driver/passenger and no power passenger seat.

I said that there is no auto “up” on drivers side of the pro, and no automatic headlights. The Pro is a basic SR5 with nice leather seats w/red contrasting stitching, factory 2” lift & factory modded suspension, dual exhaust and bed stamping. There are NO luxury features in this truck. The bean counters at Toyota corporate (and dealers) are laughing all the way to the bank. I’m anxious to see the 2019 Raptor with a 7 liter (427 cu in) V8. Probably have a price tag around 90K. Come on Toyota, build a new bada** Tundra!

Raptor is definitely more plush then the TRD Pro, but holy crap did Ford squirt out a bunch of them.. I see them everywhere and there must 180+ listed on ebay for sale.
I dont think the resale on the new Raptor will be as good as the old model.
At least Toyota limits production which keeps demand high and strong resale value

I vote for the PRO. Mine is a 2016 and I get compliments frequently on it being a bad ass truck. I love the way it rides but I gotta admit my prior Tundra and still daily driver is my 2002 Tundra.
