I don't know a lot about car stereo stuff these days but doesn't alpine, kenwood and pioneer make better and more reliable head units at this price point? These things appear to be a bit of a nightmare, while cool looking they don't seem very high quality

It’s not that. It’s about safety and forcing developers through controls to ensure your data isn’t shipped to China. Also, fragmentation is an issue too...will not even go into hardware quality as that is night and day. To each his own.

V2 Owner here. Quick Update on my experience. Had the unit installed for almost 2 weeks now. So far so good on most levels.

I’m still trying to figure out how I lost my audible tone for the lock and unlock feature, but I can live without it. After a bunch of digging on here and other Tundra forums I thought it was because one of my locking mechanisms wasn’t fully engaging, but that wasn’t the case 1f615_cc28366cd95b6e3e94751c891c5e447c40eb434d.png=/

My only current issue I’m having right now is for the past 3 days, when I hop into my truck after nightshift at about 06-0615, the system appears to be inoperable. Black, not even like lit up with a blank screen. I thought it was booting up but I waited almost 1 minute before I decided to just hit the reboot button with a pen. Fortunately, that worked and all order was restored immediately. This has happened 3 mornings in a row. Any ideas? Does the system go into sleep mode or something? I did see that option in the settings and I have no clue what its fore. I had it set to 24hours and decided to change it to 12 just for sh*ts and giggles.

Other than that I’m still hoping this upcoming update will help to get our phone hotspots to sync with the unit automatically rather than messing with the settings. It syncs up to my house wifi no problem, just not the phone. Any body else with the V2 dealing with the cold start super slow to no startup? LMK

After searching for this unit I have found they are still selling the older model at the same price as the fast boot model. On Phoenix website it looks like the fast boot model is android 7.1 and comes with 2gb ram

    Too many to list
This unit is not for the faint of heart. If u dont like messing w things dont do it. But then again if u dont like messing w things then u are on the wrong site.

Its just not "look cool" gadget. It has a lotsa features that you can use. This unit converted me from iphone to android. I have been using iphone since it was released in 07.

U dont need car play if u have this unit. I loved carplay in my Golf GTI until i got this unit and now car play looks obselete to me.

I strongly agree that they company is not big like pioneer, kenwood etc but quality of their product isnt bad considering the price I paid, $525

The sound quality isnt bad either. I was using factory HU with amps, subs and upgraded speakers. This unit actually has better sound than factory.

I have 2 four TB hard drives connected to this system probably be adding a 3rd one and a wireless printer to make the truck mobile office.

What else can i ask for?
    Extended warranty? No thank u

Hi guys, I was wondering if one of you could help me out. I have the 2nd gen radio and not sure where to hookup the connector for the climate control harness. There's an adapter cable that came with the unit that plug into the back of the unit but the connector on the factory harness side is a bigger connector, although the factory harness plugs into it. Was wondering if I'm suppose to leave it out or plug it in. Thanks

Took a chance, ordered thru AliExpress, think I paid $300+ (I had accepted I'd pay some sort of extra fee from DHL, but nothing was added)

There's really only 2 large female sockets that can be plugged into the back of the head unit. One is for climate and the other is for the main audio feature. Hopefully you've figure this out by now. If you're still have issues LMK and I'll take a pic.

After doing a bit more troubleshooting and fuse/ relay checking, I've determined that my entire alarm system is not working. The sound function, that is. At first I thought it was just the audible tone for my lock and unlock that was lost, but its the entire alarm. The system still shows the lit up red lock on the dash, but if I try to either manually set the alarm off after locking the truck via the key fob (annoying ass honking) it still doesnt sound. Is or was the alarm a feature of the OEM head unit? I still have my remote start. Just no alarm. I cant even set it off by pressing the panic mode on the key fob?

Also, it appeats that the whole frozen system thing ONLY happens to me in the early AM. Like after I get off nightshift. Around 05-0600.

Haven't nailed down the exact time frame but I think it will be at least a week when it starts running. It depends if they have the units in the US or China. When i did mine it was shipped from China and i paid the extra $40 for expedited shipped and got it in a couple weeks

They have been working closely with Jodi from that FB page and they have worked out all the major issues with this updated unit. Alot has changed. Faster boot time, split screen, better integration, more apps working on it, stream lined. Not sure if it is 32 or 64 ram but I would think 64. I dont know the processor, but it is not the same one as in the first unit. It is better. And 7.1 android version. And they have resolved the HVAC issues for the limited and ups.

If thats the case then I am interested. I looked at the website for the android 7.1 unit and it looks like the hvac controls are gone.

We are not going through Espony. Going with Phoenix radios because there customer service and engineers have been great addressing the issues of the old one and fixing them with the new version.

So just to clarify, the group buy will start around the 15th of August.
I clicked “join” on Facebook. Would I be notified when group buy starts?
I just didn’t want to miss out on the timing.

Can anyone confirm on the new version that you don't need a dvd player to play movies on the headrests like the first version did?
