Just got my truck back after a few days from the detailer with a single step paint correction and ceramic coating Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra. I didn't get the rims done but may sometime in the future. Love the look of it! side view Crystal Serum Ultra.jpg front view Crystal Serum Ultra.jpg

Did it make a significant difference in the look of your truck? A local guy is a certified ceramic pro applicator and I’m considering using him. Truck looks great, but is it much different than when you dropped it off?

I think it looks very different and am happy with it. The detailer pointed out all the scratches on the black metallic paint and went over the how to wash it going forward. The guy I used travels all over doing this for vehicles and he also does jets.

You needed correction already, I see it’s a 2018? Mine is a 2017 and the local detail guy said he didn’t think I’d need much correction - just some compound to get rid of swirls. I don’t know much about detailing though, so any insight is appreciated.

The paint from the factory is very thin even with a clear coat. Even the dealership washing it a few times can cause swirls in the paint depending on the type of wash while trying to sell it. The majority of time spent on something like this is the paint correction according to the detail guy. I'm happy with the ceramic coating and with proper care it should last.

I’m not an expert either, but I think getting rid of the swirls is part of the paint correction process.

Got it. Newb question: So what actually classifies a paint correction? Just some clay, Compound, and a polish? Or is paint correction more invasive, like wet sanding?

Is this some sort of joke or trolling? Every response is with exclamation points. I have seen you respond to multiple other threads without them.
