Help with ecu

    I put a motor in my tundra that is new I have no idea what ecu to use.
    Hello guys and probably girls..lol. I have a real problem I have a 02 tundra it's automatic and 4x4 I needed a engine and I found one in the next state that was new toyota put it together to send to a dealership to go on a dyno after it was done the motor was never installed in anything and here lies the problem it has no tag no numbers so I can not find a ecu I did manage to get ahold of toyota today and they thought from what I told them it might be a 07 I am hoping someone here can tell me how to go about finding out forsure what size and year it is so I can get a ecu and start driving my truck, Thanks

    From what you’ve said here and the PM you sent me, sounds like a second gen 2uz-fe with vvt-i. They were built from 05-09. The 4.6 1ur-fe replaced the 2uz in the 2010 tundras/sequoias. 05 received an electronic throttle, replacing the cable in the non vvt-i. Do you have the dyno printout by chance?

    Sorry I don't think it was ever put on a dyno

    What ever happened to the engine? Did you install it?

    Yes I installed it but I have yet to get it to run I have found out that the same motor was put into 06 4 runners I am really lost on this ,I was wondering if I put in a ecm from a 4 runner if it would run? And sorry I do not get on here as much as I would like to just a lot going on with some family members not doing right by their children .
