Last night some clients of mine invited my family and I over for some diner and drinks. I got to try two new Irish Whiskey’s. Both were very good!

The Knockmore was very smooth. I’ll be adding this to my collection.

The Teeling Vintage Reserve 21years old was Excellent! It was bottled in 2015 so it already 24 years old now. It was very cool of my clients to let me open the bottle since their both whiskey fans. I’ve helped them remodel their whole house inside and out.

Had a glass of Cragganmore 12 last night after dinner. It's a nice little Speyside.

I've been wanting to try some bourbons. Almost snagged a bottle of Buffalo Trace last night, but ran out of time. Any others I should look for?

I don’t know if they are. They went to the distiller and bought them there.

My favorite is Bulleit Bourbon... I like the 10 year the best... not the most expensive out there, but my taster tells me I like it... just look through this thread a little and you will find many suggestions to spend whatever cash you have leftover from mods!! Good luck and happy tasting! Cheers!

I just emptied my bottle of Jack Daniels Barrel Proof, debating whether I should pick up another... It's great, sort of like an in between of Elijah Craig BP and Stagg Jr in terms of flavor

It's $55 at Total Wine here, definitely a bit pricey but really good juice that's still easy to find

Well, I picked up a bottle of Buffalo Trace today. Gotta say, I really enjoy it.

Smell: Hints of eggnog (ya, really), caramel and cherry

Taste: Caramel, dark chocolate and cherry.

Dont open that bottle. Its value may go up now that the distillery collapsed.
Several restaurants that we visited in lexington werent sure which way to go as it was a very significant amount of barrels that got destroyed

I’ve been eyeballing that... do u get a good taste of the honey or is it a lost flavor that you can only find while burping?

It's far from my favorite, but lately I've rediscovered Chivas Regal 12yr. My wife won a bottle in a work raffle and it's been sitting as a turd on my shelf for years. Sipped neat, it's a very pleasant scotch with a nice malty molasses and brown sugar flavor. It hints at just enough "scotch" flavors (pepper, wood, etc.) if you're just getting into it. A lot of similarity to my ~$140 Glenfiddich 21yr bottle, but very watered down and muted in comparison. Also very cheap ($20-30) and often comes in a nice gift box with glassware.

Bought a pint of Wyoming Whiskey last weekend, and my only thought drinking it was...where has this stuff been all of my life? Will definitely be buying a .750 the next time I find it.

Okay we need to classify whiskey into categories.

1st, 2nd or 3rd drink you drink the good stuff. After that, if you want to keep going, drink some Evan Williams.

No need to drink good stuff once you drunk. Personally I like a nice Speyside scotch, that slightly floral, sweet tinge to the scotch is my favorite. Glennfidich is good stuff, but then again I'm a budget drinker.

This is my favorite whiskey right now, but probably because it’s basically a Japanese scotch.
    29C1944A-195E-49A6-BE85-CC63D70D2D65.jpg

Favorite scotch would be something from Ardbeg or Laphroaig, depending on my mood.

This single malt scotch whisky was recommended by a local liquor store. He said they don’t get it often and if taste amazing. I haven’t tried it yet but looking forward to trying it. Anyone try this one before? D26B19E8-186E-40AA-BB7B-CC67E609EA0C.jpg 271EE217-D87D-4289-94B7-60C475FCE1F0.jpg

I have not. I’m not much of a lowland fan but this stuff sounds like a lot of the flavor is coming from the casks, so it might be pretty tasty. Report back when you try it!
