Hello people. So tomorrow I am pulling the trigger on either the bilstein 6112 5160 set up or Icon stage 2. After wheels tires there is going to be around $700 difference. Or should I just do bilstein 5100s all around. I just want the most comfortable ride not counting off roading. Trust me I am here everyday lurking and I feel like I have gone through every forum to research I just need your last minute input before I buy. Thanks and I love this site it makes laugh everyday.

I had the Icon stage 1 on my F150 and its was awesome offroad and at speed, little stiff on the road though as its digressive. No complaints with Icon very nice stuff.

Everyones tolerance is different. 5100s are a bit stiff. I think they are fine, but I don’t mind my truck driving like, a truck. They certainly don’t ‘float’ over bumps. You feel thatshit.

Yeah I am definitely not lookingfor my truck to drive like a Cadillac. Just want to spend money wisely. Do the 5100s feel stiffer then stock?

They are pretty damn comparable to the stock TRDOR shocks IMO. A bit stiffer, but that’s not a bad thing if you are lifting. They are not bad at all if you are used to ‘offroad’ or heavy duty suspension. If you are coming from a Cadillac or even a truck with a high quality mid or long travel setup then 5100s prob feel like doo-doo...

I am happy with 5100s for the money. They are fine for street/light off-roading.

I would say that replacing the UCAs made a significant improvement in handling and feeling the road/steering feedback.

Save you money and go 6112, I had Icons and personally think the 6112's ride better overall. Most of these guys haven't driven both set ups.

Not comparable but have the 5100's on the wife's 4runner and love that ride too. I will never pay for Icons or Foxes again. Bilstein has been around since 1873, I think they know a thing or two about suspension.

6112. Have them on my 17 and ride is so nice. Wife even complimented the ride on our recent 1000 mile roadtrip

I just had the bilsteins 5100 installed all the way around with middle settings on front on my truck cause I wanted to keep the stock look and the ride actually feels better to me. Little more firm but I like it and it leveled it just the way I wanted it to be. 1/2 inch lower in front. Hope this helps

I have the 5160/6112 setup leveling my 17. It stiffens the ride up, but in a good way. I feel its more planted on and off road. I haven't run Icons or anything else, so I have no basis for comparison, so mileage will vary. You can lose your mind reading all the threads on wheels and suspension here, and all have merit, some more than others. Ask around if anyone in your area has this setup, maybe you can bum a ride and feel for yourself.
Good luck in your suspension search. Don't be in a rush to pull the trigger until you're really ready.

I have had both, I sold the Icons and got 5100s. I was never happy with the Icon stuff, stage 6 on a 16 Platinum. I’m just fine with the 5100s.
