Hey all, I’ve developed a terrible squeak that I can’t for the life of me pin point. It is loud enough outside the truck that I can hear it inside the cabin with the radio on. Frankly it’s embarassing driving down the street. It seems to be coming from the front end somewhere but I’m really not sure. It only happens on bumpy sections of the road. A large bump may not trigger it but lots of small bumps certainly will. Really looking for some help on different things to check. Thanks!

I am going thru a creaking sound investigation with Toyota right now. Can you post a audio of the squeaking? I may be able to help.

No skid plate on the truck.
    Braking has no effect.
Not confident enough to say turning has no impact.
    No new mods.
I lubed the condenser bushings with a silicon spray lube, if you watch the videos pointing to that squeak it sounds just like that. Maybe I should try white lithium grease?
I will try and capture audio of the sound.

Mine had a horrible noise over small bumps and at idle . It was the main wire harness that goes to the pcm. In the engine bay the harness is hooked on with a plastic clip. I ran a big zip tie through it and cinched it up. Maybe same as yours?

My issue is so severe, I am going on three weeks without my truck. Toyota flew a tech in from San Antonio to review things today. I hope to have an update tomorrow.

I tried lubing the condensor bushings again, it seemed to greatly reduce the squeak. I think I will try again with some white lithium grease and continue to monitor.

I’ve got the exact same squeaking sounds on my 2017 CM. Can easily hear on moderately rough roads....and also when closing the doors. Definitely coming from the engine area.

If someone could post some pics of what to lubricate I would greatly appreciate it.

I have no idea what your sound is, but I had a squeak/rattle in the front of my truck that I would describe like yours. It turned out to be the the front bumper rebar. The bolts were not tight enough. Its a long shot, but easy enough to give the bolts a check.

Where can I host video, it won’t let me attach the file. I think it’s coming from the front right but it has me thourghoughly pissed off. If I can’t get rid of this squeak soon I’m going to trade it in:mad::mad::mad:. It is time to replace brake pads but I’ve never experienced a squeak like this from brakes!?

Have you looked at all the squeak threads around here? Some have a problem with the skid plate squeaking, some with the ECM squeaking and some have the AC condenser squeaking.

Really hard to tell in your video. Will it squeak when sitting still and just revving the engine?

No skid plate on the truck, condensor bushings are lubed well and not the culprit. Haven’t seen the ECM thread., will have to dig that one up.

Only squeaks when moving, reving the engine has no effect.

Damn I should have used the forum search not google. I’m going to check my carrier bearing for play. That would make some sense as the squeak doesn’t seem to be directly related to suspension travel.

Updating for future searches. I got it corrected!!! I’m pretty sure it was driver side front bumper bracket, someone mentioned those and sure enough several nuts had worked their way loose. I tightened them up, and haven’t heard a squeak in 3 days. I can’t say for certain that’s what it was because I tightened all my running board bolts (lock washers were still closed but all could be torques farther) and fooled with the shocks on the same day. I’m just glad the squeak is gone.
