I just bought my first Tundra in Las Vegas! Challenge is I need it transported to me in Ohio.....the dealership posted it on the transportation site for $1200 but haven't had any responses yet. I could fly out for cheap and drive it back but not motivated by a 1600 mile drive home. Open to suggestions!Screenshot_20180724-141031~2.jpg

For $1200 I would rather pay them then deal with the traffic, any bad weather, constant fuel ups, etc.

Sounds like I can ask them to increase the amount but this is what the system says it should ship for. I was told the challenge is the size. For two trucks shipped they can ship 3 cars. More money for the trucking company.

    Too many to list
Dealers use Central Disptach which I have in the past. $1200 sounds reasonable. I paid $800 for my Tundra from New Orleans to Chicago that was in March. You can increase the bid or wait and you will find the small carrier.

Welcome from CO. When was your last road trip? A lot of nice scenery out this way. Either way you're spending some money to get your truck home and you might be able to get home faster if you go get it.

Carmax will ship a vehicle from site to site (out of state) for about 1/3 of that, or at least did offer in the past. Curious if they would / could work with you and transport it for you. Probably small chance they will, you never know.....

Bring a pillow for the backseat and drive it.

You're going to need that $1200 for mods.

    There's no turning back now.

There are apps that you can post up what you need shipped and then companies will bid to earn your business. uship is an app that I have used in the past. Hope that helps

    Try the auto train.

Only thing is you would have to be on the train with your truck.

I bought my 2000 Tundra in 2000, later gave it to my son as his first vehicle. He is now in the military and 2 years ago I shipped it to D.C. to him. What I found out is every auto transport company you find are really just brokers (think commissioned real estate agents). They all list their loads on the same place and it depends on the drivers and where they are going, what their current load is, how much they want the job, etc, etc.
$1200 is more than a fair price (think I spent about $1000 AZ to D.C.). You just need the right situation to come up for the right driver.

I have purchased several vehicles via online auctions and to date, none of them has ever cost me as much as $1200 to be shipped to me. Personally speaking, I would go get it myself. But, if you can’t or wish not to, go online and shop around for quotes. I use www.uship.com most of the times.

$800 for mine a couple months ago from FL to TN. That was over 800 miles and 11.5 hrs. If you could get it shipped for $1200, I'd consider that a good deal. Got here in 5 days after setting it up. I don't think I would have come out very far ahead, if at all, going to get it myself.
