Hi All. 1st time truck owner here. ‘18 4x2, 4.6. Averaging about 17.2 mpg during my 70 mile round trip commute each day. Looking for upgrades to improve mpg. I don’t tow, but I do haul occasionally on weekends. Your opinions are appreciated.

Get a Prius? :notsure: 17.2 is really high. It might improve a tad as the engine breaks in but other than that there isn’t much you can do to improve much more than that. I get about 12.

I did have a tonneau cover for awhile. May have gotten 0.5 mpg increase on the highway.

Welcome I am honestly not sure what the 4.6L is supposed to get for fuel mileage but 17.2 seems like an awesome number my 5.7 is getting mostly 15-15.5 but it did hit 16 last fill up.

Most of this trucks 2k miles has been Interstate travel since I got it 2 months ago so that probably has something to do with the 15 mpgs.

EDIT: I have a lead foot too

    Trips me out, I’m also getting 17.2-17.3 with a 5.7 4x4 supercharged and a 4.5” lift...

I thought I was going to like the SC for the power only, but I’m beginning to enjoy it for the efficiency too.

When I picked up the truck, the 1st owner was getting 20.5 mpg... my foot must be a touch heavier.

Since you purchased the Super White Tundra you already know that there is an increase in horsepower along with at least an increase of 2-3mpg from the factory. I am getting 19mpg hwy with the 5.7 however that is with me driving like an old man and not letting the rpm’s go over 2k.

K&N filter got me 1 MPG more but I personally didn’t get a tundra for the fuel economy.

Bed lined, tinted all 5 windows, hose clamped tailgate, toolbox, steps, ESP rear seat storage bins, dash cam, anytime camera switch, console safe, pop a lock for tailgate and wheels/flares, sway bar. I have Techstream if anyone local needs it.
Move to Wyoming, and always drive south. Easy! In my 2013 Tundra, I averaged 24.7 mpg driving from Cheyenne WY, south to Fort Collins CO. I should probably mention that there was a 60-70 mph tail wind.

Edit: It was Super White too.
