Idk if I will be able to install the lift my self yet or not. I have 1 strut assembly nut rounded on the passenger side. So it wouldn't make much sense to do the driver side and not the passenger. I was really trying to do the work on my own and not take it to the local shop. Not only to save money, but to also learn bc this is my first build.

So for the front suspension I plan on going to a junk yard and finding a TRD Tundra/Seq with front springs tht appears to be newer than mine. And if I can get the strut assembly off successfully (This will be my first time to try to remove a strut assembly), then I will use those springs to put together a loaded strut assembly with the Bilstein 5100 and a coil isolater. So all the shop will have to do is swap he strut assembly on my truck with the new one. And i can still have a little fun

And for the rear. The car already has a 1inch block in the back, but I'm not about to Bull Dog. I have a Skyjacker

$190 add-a-leaf kit for 1999-2021 toyota tundra - 21.5" short AAL set with isolator pads and square bend u-bolts

add-a-leaf kit tht is supposed to give 2-2.5 inches of lift. I have installed blocks before so I shld be able to install the AAL. And if after the install of the AAl I feel tht the rear is Bro Leaning, then I will install another, smaller AAL. And hopefully completely get rid of the blocks to

Hopefully in the end of all this suspension lift journey I will have a 3.5-4 inch lift in the front. and a 3-4 inch lift in the back. More pictures coming soon!!

 

TBH I really havent looked to into it. As much as I wld like to have a winch it is kinda one of the last things on the list. I need to read up and educate my self before honing on to a system

 

Same. I have seen a few on Instagram. But it seems like almost all of the lifted DCs are Pavement Princesses :/ . I want to build this truck to use it for camping and trails an fun stuff like tht. Not just a road car. This will be my first build so hopefully I can accomplish tht!

Snagged this Camper Shell off Craigslist. Idk much about the brand but I figured for $150 brand is kinda irrelevant haha.

Going to talk to the local shop tomorrow about installing the 5100s and the coil isolaters. Hopefully thwy don't give me some crazy price for install.

Sorry IDKY I didnt catch your question earlier. Im doing the Bilstein 5100 adjustable suspension with a strut isolater. And for the rear im doing a 1inch block with the SkyJacker 2-2.5 inch Add A Leaf kit.

 

I've been making use of the bed lately. Here is a pick from the job my cousin and I finished today. There is roughly 3000lbs of brick/cement ruble in the bed. And with the Firestone air suspension going the truck is only squaring by a couple inches. (Keep in mind tht with out the load the truck already squats just a little BC of the 2.5 inch spacers in the front)

Tomorrow morning I am taking the truck down to Tire Discounters. They will be installing: Diff Drop, AAL (I am having them put the leaves with in the packs, other wise I wld do the AAl and the diff drop my self), Adjusting the 5100s to give 1.5 inches more lift in the front, and the new Tires/Wheels.

For tires I decided to go down a notch in size from 285/75-17 (33.8x11.0). I bought 295/75-16 (33.4x11.60) Toyo Open Country A/T II Extreme.

And for the rims I bought some inexpensive MB motoring rims from Discount Tire Direct. 16x8 with a 4.25 backspacing. Hopefully I won't be needing wheel spacers, but we will see.

I wasn't able to find any pics of DC First Gens with this size Tire on a 4" lift. So I really dnt know how they will fit/look. Hopefully everything goes as planned tomorrow and the guys at the shop can follow instructions!

 

Those are gonna be large... I bet they rub pretty significantly. Which lift?

 

Yeah they rub a little on the inside wall but tht isn't something tht a 1/2 wheel spacer can't fix. And for the lift I have a ReadyLift 2.5/1. But I also have an AAL which added 2-3 inches in the back and I have the Adjustable Bilstein 5100's in the front set to the 0.67 lift.

 

So Tire Discounters cldnt adjust the 5100s BC the UCA is so small, I'll order bigger ones though. However they were able to install the AAL in the back.

We had to do a little chopping in the back corners of the front wheel wells, and everything is riding great now


Ended up taking the nerf bars off. This is my only pic rn of the truck w/o the nerf bars, jumping off my friend's Blazer.

 

Subd. I am looking for the same truck, so I am curious to see what you do with yours.

Notes:
-If you go with 295/75-16 tires (33.5x11.6) instead the typical 285/75-16 tires (32.8x11.2). You WILL need more than a 3inch lift in the front. Tires WILL rub the wheel wells with only a 3inch lift.

- If you plan on doing a 4inch suspension lift you WILL need upper control arms. No two ways around it.

-Tires do rub the frame, but only at full lock. I would recommend going with wheels that have 4.00 or less backspacing. But my 4.25 wheels do work.

-If you have the proper equipment to do most of the install your self, then do the installs your self. The installation costs were killed.

It's been a while we posted on this thread. Thought I would share that today I got the driver and passenger windows tinted to match the factory tint in the back. Performance Films of Tennessee in Nashville did a great job! And only ran me $70 (My friend photo bombed lol)
