So I still have my 17 Taco.... Still HATE my 17 Taco.... Cannot wait to be able to trade it in for a new 3rd gen Tundra. I just have to sell my house first and downsize into another house. But until then, I am still lurking here, trying to learn as much as I can. Which leads to me to ask this...

What are the main differences between the TRD Off Road and the TRD Sport 4X4?

    Future dream plans:
    Chrome delete
Add hood scoop (I do like that look)
    Probably go with white
Will eventually do lift and tires (nothing too crazy)

What would be gained in one and lost in the other? Thanks all for your input!

I’d look at the TRD Sport, I’m pretty sure they already have all the painted bumpers and come with the hood scoop. That’s two less things you’d have to do!
The TRD Off-road has a different suspension than the sport but probably doesn’t matter to you if you do a lift.

I do not do a lot of off road. I like the suspension though "JUST IN CASE". So there is another consideration...

The TRD Sport would be perfect for you. Not sure what price difference is though.

Haha, I thought I’d give it a try! No worries your dream truck will come soon enough. Just gotta be patient. I started off with a Tacoma too. The tundra came when the time was right :fistbump:

Everything on your list, except lift & tires is already included in the Sport. Go for it.
One other item that the Sport has is the rear sway bar, which I think is nice. A lot of people add that to their non-sport models.

Unless set on brand new... probably could find used 2016 or 2017 Pro for price of 2018 sport? The Pros seem to hold value well.

One you sell and close on the new one you’ll be in the homefree. For now, just make a list of what you’d like to do when you get possession of it and future mods.

So there are no bells and whistles on the off road that I would miss out on the sport? And vice versus?

I really like the 18s. I prefer new versus old because I know how well a new truck has been cared for... a used is always a gamble... I do, however, understand the depreciation value. But new always appeals to me.

Whenever the weather is nice, I take the bike. I got that Road Glide 2 months ago. Already have about 4k miles on it.

Traded in a Street Glide for that that I had for 2 years and put 16.5K miles on that one. So I get a good amount of saddle time.

EXACTLY!!!!! That's why I want a white truck. The bikes name is Vengeance. Long story behind that. But the trucks name will definitely be TK-421.

And thank you, by the way.

White? Come on better colors than that. The dark blue, inferno, and the best bronze. You should "might consider trading in the taco while new without miles" to get best trade in. Had a white pickup for about 17 years could not stand it can't tell if was color or it was a dodge or both....
