Fender Flares with Mud Flaps ?

I'm wanting to add some protection with these 35" and fender flares. Is this something people do?

What is out there that you are using?

Any complaints or suggestions?

 

Could vinyl wrap your vehicle or have that 3M clear put on at parts you think are going to catch some rock chips. Clear is definitely on my to do list.

 

I have flares and used the factory mud flaps. Some minor modifications are needed but they do work well.

 

I'm considering doing the same thing.

 

No offense.......Drive up to Alaska on the upper ALCAN hi way without any protection. Let alone with the nifty looking "stick out the fender" tire look. Makes absolutely zero sense to me unless you are only concerned about the occasional dirt road "dust", snow, and mud. I know folks/clients who drive on nothing but gravel roads here every day. ( fracking fields). I sure hope you like the bare metal look. It's not always about looks. Practicality does come into play for most of us folks on this site. I'm sure there are many Tundra owners that use their trucks "off pavement" on a daily basis. Mud flaps do not get in the way. Get in the way of what? Makes no sense. I prefer getting my pin stripes when I'm out playing. It's one thing to worry about a little dirt, road "dust", snow, and mud. Not!!! Small rocks or larger on a daily basis will definitely have an adverse affect on paint and the life of your truck. My 07 Tundra is not an investment. It's a money pit like any other vehicle. I want it to last. Not into trading the "best" truck every 3 or 4 years, especially for something not even "new" like the 3rd gen Tundra, unless you like taking off a perfectly new grill and hood bulge for a more "nifty" look to make it even newer looking. Don't forget the spacers. I'm so glad I'm old school. I must be in another 4X4 parallel universe where nothing makes sense. My Opinion...............

Have to completely agree with you matluth. You can always tell the guys who actually use their truck to the guys looking for something pretty, or as they call it, badass looking! I'll go with practicality any day.

 

Could always build a truck that caters to both.

 

Could just Line-x the entire truck...

 

Probably tough or impossible keep clean. The bed of my truck has Line-X, from the year of use of throwing crap in the back, the Line-X is discolored. I've used soap, bristle brush and pressure washer to it and it's still stained. It doesn't bother me, just making a statement.

 

You get if from the dealership or know the brand name?

 

I appreciate it. The only complain I have about the interior is the silver paneling. I think it would look good with the leather wrap that is on the dash and around the driver side vent. I'll probably just have them wrap the silver with carbon or something that doesn't stand out so much.
