Sr5 safety package thoughts?

Can anyone comment on the SR5 Safety package? Is it worth it? Opinions please... Thanks.

 

I didn't know parking sensors came on SR5's. Depending on price, it may be worth it just to get the color matched rear bumper. All the other stuff I can live without.

 

Thanks guys. Does anyone know if the tow mirrors have blind spot monitoring? Or is that only available with the standard mirrors?

 

When I order my Limited with tow mirrors I was told I that BSM was not compatible. I ordered my truck without the convenience package that included parking assist/BSM in favor of the tow mirrors. I had parking assist on my Titan and got tired of the thing beeping at me for no reason. Not sure if the Tundra version is better.

 

Thanks for the info. Do you feel the tow mirrors are that much better? Do you tow often? I'm thinking about the tundra for towing a small camper periodically.

 

I have a SR5 TRD package that came with park assist sonar which I use periodically. I did swap the OEM mirrors to the tow mirrors. Much better for backing up. Extremely happy with the tow mirrors.

 

I live in the city and for day to day parking lot, drive thru, car banking kind of stuff I miss the small mirrors. They fit in small spaces much better and I don't feel I need to fold them when I park on the street. For expressway & highway driving I really like the tow mirrors even without a trailer.

I do tow a lot, mostly boats. I don't need the extra length on most of them and I don't know that I will even need to extend them. For backing a trailer having a flat mirror passenger side is really nice. For changing lanes toward the passenger side with a trailer, having a flat mirror to judge distance is also really nice. I am looking forward to having the tow mirrors during duck season when I often back trailers in the dark. I find it especially hard to see out of the standard curved passenger mirror in the dark.

 

Thank you for your insight. I am definitely leaning towards the tow mirrors, I just wish dealers by me had trucks with them installed...

 

I shopped both online and in person with a dealer I have used before. My list of must haves included tow mirrors and most dealers offered to install a set on units that were close to what I wanted they had on the lot. I ended up ordering a truck to get everything on my list that Toyota would sell me. It took a little over a month to get it but I think it was worth the wait.
