Just recently wondered what the red dots are on navigation screen, the Tundra appears to drop bread crumbs where you have been. No idea how long they last - “I’ve never been on this road.” “According to the Tundra, you have!”

There is an itty bitty bulb that shines down from the bottom of the knee airbag panel onto the parking brake pedal

Just found out on a night run in Death Valley that your fog lights turn off when you turn your high beams on. Never noticed with my crappy stock fogs but was pretty obvious with the BD Squadrons.

Yup and some of us used this connector to install foot well LED lighting for the front and back seat areas!

My back glass somehow magically defrosts when I turn the defroster on. My truck doesn't have the rear defrost feature (the wires in the glass), and I couldn't see any vents or anything back there. Somehow, I can turn the defroster on and watch the glass clear up right in front of my eyes. I guess it's coming from the side window vents.

when the defroster is on the ac kicks in too to help draw the moisture out out of the cab. if you have rear vents on your center console the air may be hitting the glass and helping the defrost process.

I also discovered that the other day. It can be turned off, and the past dots can be cleared if you don't want dots all over your screen.

I have about 5000 miles on my new CrewMax. Yesterday I was filling it up and noticed a clip on the inside of the gas door to hang the cap in.
    Duh.

It's not like the highbeams do anything. Mine just point up, not really any further. The fogs are brighter.

I'm driving faster than what I think in my head. IE on a 40mph straight road, look down, doing 55-60mph without realizing it. Maybe its the high up seating position, never had a vehicle that sat this high, been used to sedans and my low riding old 2wd Toyota pickups.

Those old 2wd trucks were great too, you couldn't kill them, had a 1993 2wd/reg cab truck, beat to shit, but it ran great, bought for $600, sold for $1600 3 years after I bought it and fixed a few things(clutch was expensive). 2004 Tacoma, that was a really nice truck, dad owned it previously, he always keeps his vehicles nice. 2wd/reg cab/4 cylinder/5 speed no options type of deal. Loved that truck for how easy it was to park, easy to load/unload the bed(5'6" hobbit like me can reach over the bed side to load it), loved the 25mpg as well. Didn't love how tight the cab was, no back seat, plus that sucker was really loud on the interstate. Still it kept me safe in a rather horrific Dale Earnhart type of wreck, went head on into the inside wall on the interstate at like 40mph on a rainy day.

Also my Tundra is a bench seat model. Didn't find that cubby-hole below the center seat until a few days after buying it. Flip up the center armrest to make that bench seat, then pull on that bottom cushion, whole nother place to store crap.

Also why are there two cupholders in my center armrest on the bench seat model. There are two cup holders that pop out of the dash, not to mention the two drink holders in each front door. Really wish they had just made the center arm rest one big lift up cover to stick junk in, and made it padded like the bucket seat trucks. Still though, I do like the column shift, feels like I'm in some cheesy 70's cop car chase or like I'm driving the A-team van.

The other night I needed to adjust my outside mirrors and noticed the controls were not lit up like all the other controls down on the bottom left. Is a bulb burned out or do they really not have the mirror controls lit?

My brothers Silverado has that feature where the volume of the radio increases and decreases according to the speed you are driving. Do our Tundras have that? I cant find it if we do.

No. It only changes from audio sources. XM to FM to AM to CD to AUX. It's really annoying.

No light. Drives me crazy. It's the only control that's not lit up

Footwell light. It's T5 / 74 bulb, can be upgraded to LED, one company even sells a kit that you can add a light strip to driver and passenger side that plugs into that socket

I had that on Mid and didn’t really notice that it did anything. I just moved it to High. I’ll see if I notice it tomorrow.

    Thanks,

It depends on your radio. I have the simple version and it's there under Setup.

I tried Mid, Low, High, and Off and there’s no difference at all in volume adjustment. This must be for something other than auto-volume.

Ok, so I looked in the owners manual, and tried a search and found nothing except this thread, which is great! Can anyone tell me what this port is for? I have no cords that fit it. It says 115V 15 amp.

Look like it is a plug for a block heater, since you are in update NY it would make sense.

Did you buy used? Mine doesn't have that. My guess is aftermarket to plug in winch or lights or something.

Or does or did the truck have a winch? Could be the plug for the winch controller
