Has anyone Installed a wireless printer to work with HU. I have two 4TB hard drives connected to the HU and my hotspot turns on after my phone bluetooth connects to the truck. I can connect my wireless printer to hotspot and then figure out a way to print from HU.

I can just save myself bunch of money by having an office on wheels.

I have no problem connecting to Bluetooth or phone hotspot, if on the phone they are both turned on, as soon as the HU is booted up its ready to surf. Mirroring the phone takes a little fiddling but have no use for it.
I got my nephews drone cam and a cheep security cam to run off wifi direct, im sure you should be able to run a printer.

Does anyone have a newer software/firmware version for the 1st gen headunit? I have some software issues and I hoped I could update.IMG_20180723_085642.jpg

I just installed this last weekend, and I'm loving it. Thanks for all the great pointers in this thread, it was super straightforward.

I'm trying to figure out a few things, hoping someone can help.

    1. How do you adjust the fader? I figured out the EQ settings, but not the F/R balance or L/R.
    2. Is there a way to add apps to the toolbar up top, or to the home screen? I'd love to be able to launch spotify from the home screen without having to dig for it
    3. Is there a way to set it up so spotify (or any other app) doesn't shut down when I turn the car off for a quick fuel up?

I'm loving this unit. It's so nice to have a huge display for google maps and waze. Not to mention the far superior sound over stock.

So you like it? I'm curious for road trips, movies for the passenger. Right now I have a pioneer that feeds 2 headrest monitors, but I'm liking the android, more possibilities.

I don't have this unit yet... But have had Android's for a while. In the app store I would imagine you can down load a version for whatever wireless printer you have and link it

Thats the plan. I think it will work. Linking my laptop. HU and wireless printer to the hotspot wifi through my phone and work off of it. Just have to find a place for the printer which is challenging.

Unfortunately, my truck is the at the shop for electrical/lighting mods.
Cant wait to implement the technological mods.

Sounds like you need to customize your center arm rest/ compartment, that would be cool to have the prints shoot out slot. Lol im sure it could be done.
You could also check and see what would fit into the glove box too.

Have my hard drive and USB in glove so thats taken.
Have amp and inverter underneath passenger and driver seat so no go there.
Only place is the armrest. Its big bulky box that i m sure can be utilized somehow.
There is a lotsa dead space behind crewmax rear seat wish there was a way to have fold down seats. Guess thats where i miss German engineering. They get so much usuable space out of so little space.

If it was me i would go to best buy and buy a few printers, see wich one would best fitt then return the rest. Check first on return policy, some do a restock fee.

Been following the Phoenix unit since the group buy last year. There are pluses to it, but there are also negatives as well which has held me back. Our of curiosity, has anyone got XM to work with the second gen unit?

BTW, Phoenix was supposed to send an engineer here to the states to work on the A/C display issues.

    A) Did this ever happen?
    B) Did they ever fix the temp display issue?

How many passengers and what ages? Do they have anything like ipads?...Smartphones would work but screens are small.

If you're somewhat comfortable around soldering and don't mind a little command line programming, couple of headless Raspberry Pi's (Pi-1 Access Point/Router, Pi-2 SMB Shares). Each passenger can select their own respective movie. Have something similar to this in my RV.

As for the hu- Android OS works well, can read my email, look stuff up on net, even uploaded some DVR recordings (Morning news) and some movies.

Count me in on the group buy if it's going to happen. Been on the fence about this thing but at for $500 - $600 it seems worth the possible aggravation. Doesn't sound like anyone has installed the 360 cam yet. Wondering if it is compatible with my logo front cam and stock rear cam.

I will take mine out again.
The HU works well but I am disappointed with the digital radio (DAB module) and FM is also not working. Also the TV receiver is not working well. Not to mention the very poor quality of phone calls. Everything seems very ad hoc and not of good quslity...cheap China stuff in other words.

However, I might not be the right person for this thing, I just want to listen to digital radio and be able to make calls. Also the install job might not have been the best one...

When i want to use phone i just use my phone google and say the name, then it goes to the HU and works fine. As for sound improvement it's worth paying a $1,000 for it to me.

Wondering if anyone has info on this unit. Looks identical, as do the specs but adds on-board nav.....but for $2,000!
Curious if they've worked out any of the bugs or just selling the exact same thing at higher price. I called the local guy, ADC Mobile, and I never got back.
Maybe a good marketing tactic but you'd think they'd at least change the bezel.
Thanks for all the info guys. I'm new to the forum but I'll post whatever I end up doing.
