Squeak and creak

Howdy! My 2011 tundra is driving me nuts. (3” lift in front, extra leaf in the back (5) total) I get a high pitch creaking noise from both sides. The noise is generated by compression. I scilicone lubed the leafs, u-bolts, and pretty much every piece of suspension I could see. Noise went away for a day and then came back. Any ideas? I’m going nuts here lol God bless brothers & sisters!

 

Did you have a spray in bedliner done? If so, check the bed bolts. Torx 55 I believe. Mine were loose AF, I torqued them to 65ft lbs and raised my shackles that were rubbing on the bed bolts and my squeak went away entirely. What type of leaf spring bushings are you running? Stock or poly aftermarket?

 

Noise coming from the front or rear?

 

No spray in. Just plastic Bed liner. I believe they are stock. I bought the truck with the lift already in place. It’s was professionally done by CST (California super truck) the dude payed 5k for it =O

Driver side sounds like rear upper area and passenger side sounds like lower center of truck. When you get under it it sounds like it’s coming from everywhere

 

Lol. Maybe try an automotive stethoscope?

 

Does anyone know where the bed bolts are located on the 2011 tundra?

 

In the bed. 6 big torx bolts

 

My leaf springs started to make some noise after a trip to the sand dunes. And lots of dusty desert trips. Tired power washing and cleaning and didn’t help. I jacked up the rear to open up the leafs and washed and scrubbed the leafs again and sprayed motocross chain lube on the leafs. (Lubricant that dirt does not like to stick too) and so far it’s been quiet since. Most other lubricant will attract more dirt causing more noise. Just my opinion and something to try out if it’s coming from your rear suspension.

Solid info. Thank you. I trying using a compressor to blow the dust out, then used PB blaster. Maybe pressure rinsing is a better alternative. Any opinions on scilicone PB blaster? Do you suggest another lube? It didn’t work last time but maybe skipping the pressure wash stage was a bad idea

 

I used WD40 white silicon grease. worked great for my squeaking/creaking.

I had the same problem and finally fixed the issue!! The sound could be coming from the front skid plate if there is a bolt missing or loose, but in my case it ended up being an exhaust hanger that was rubbing against the middle part of the truck on the metal frame. The Tundra has a mid-hanger that may slightly shift and cause metal to metal contact when going through several small and continuous bumbs in the road causing an annoying squeak and creak. A trip to the exhaust shop fixed the issue when the hanger rod was modified to allow for more free moving clearance.
