So it's 2 days after Amazon Prime Day, so there are many deliveries happening this week. And the thieves know it. A friend of mine caught this one on camera. The guy as following the damn Fed-Ex truck. This specific package was meant for a charity golf game this weekend. It was supposed to be a raffle prize.

Videos from Ring doorbell and cameras abound on YouTube. Men, woman, elderly, and kids. Complete lawlessness. Take a hand off and this will stop quick.

I almost think we need to reinvent the mailbox. Make it like some sort of safe, make it to where other couriers like UPS, Fedex, etc can use it. Right now its against the law for anybody to put anything in a mailbox except for the USPS.

Or maybe make some sort of safe that installs on your porch. It stays unlocked until the courier puts a package in it, then it automatically locks.

I can see somebody who comes up with the right idea and knows how to market/sell it would make a fortune. This would really be a hit with the new money younger people moving into unsafe/high crime/extremely expensive "gentrified" neighborhoods 2 blocks away from the projects.

We had a horrible time with people breaking into the service door of locking mailbox "pods" in California. Identities stolen, packages, etc. The suspects simply bring a crowbar. No deterrent, no consequences. Simple lawlessness.

Like I said, its got to be the right idea. I was kind of thinking something like this that sits on your front porch, but with a modern lock that stays unlocked until the postman opens and then closes the safe with your package, then it locks automatically. Its 900lbs, built like a brick shit house and bolted down.

Something kind of like this but with no wheels, bolted down. Maybe find a way to integrate it into the framing of your house.

Eventually Wal-Mazon will come up with a solution. They have too much riding on the outcome.

I usually have UPS or FedEx hold at terminal.

Sucks, but I like my packages and I really don’t want someone to think that coming on my property uninvited is ok. That be some risky behavior.

I swear I think I'm going to have to drill some holes in my porch and drop these in there to make it look like there's a spike trap waiting for assholes like that.

Amazon alreary has a solution. You can buy a front door lock setup that lets the delivery driver open your front door and drop the package inside.

Yeah, as letting them in into your residence makes better sense. I'd rather lose a package and have the shipping company cover it.

Honestly, I feel like that is more a psyop more than anything. We all know that you wouldn't open door or give keys to strangers. I know Amazon contracted with CIA for their supposedly cloud service, but I digress...

Exactly. Not to mention, that whenever you go on their website, they attach to you like a tapeworm stealing any info they can.
