Since I am on a very tight budget because of all you bastards (respectfully out of love) spending my money on mods. I was wondering what you guys and gals have found as the best deal for XM radio. A 3 month free trial came with the truck and is about to expire. I have actually loved having the service but for some reason I am having a hard time forking over 15 bucks a month...

If you wait a while Sirius will drop their price. I had the trial when I bought my Altima a few years ago and it got as low as $7.

Once it expires, you'll be flooded with emails, letters and maybe even calls.

The best i've seen is 6mo for $30 i think.

    here's this mornings email:

Call them and ask them if they have a better deal, if they say no, just ask to cancel. They usually come up with a better deal for you. I used to do this to get 6 months for $25. Did it about 4 or 5 times but that was a few years ago now. I think they’re having a rough time financially so I think they’ll do about anything to keep customers.

Boy that's no joke about the spamming. I learned the first time and gave everyone a fake phone number so I wouldn't get calls for this and extended warranty scams.

We liked the trial that came with the Tundra so much we added the service to my wife's car too. If you call SiriusXM before the end of the trial (or promo period) they will offer you a deal. They seem to always start with 1 year for $99. I always tell them this is too much and then they offer the 5 or 6 month plan for ~$30. The only downside is that you need to remember to call before the end of the promo period and if you don't you will be charged the regular price for that month.

They are relentless. And they really really really want me back, really bad.

Phone calls, emails, letters in the mail. Use to be like every day but they've slowed down quite a bit.

Best they offered that I remember is 30 for 6 months.

The SiriusXM offers seem to change about every month so when you call you will be offered the deal that is currently available. You can google "xm radio deals" to see what the current deals are before calling. If you renew before the expiration of the current promo that you are connected to I believe that the cost of the new promo will be discounted a bit for the time remaining on your current plan.

They are a real PITA since you must call and talk to someone to cancel - can't do any of this online. :-(

I just spoke w/one of their online reps and the best deal I could get for the Select package was 6 months for $37.66 w/taxes and fees included.

This makes me glad I jumped on the $399 lifetime subscription when they offered it years ago.

Maybe for their Mostly Music package, but not the Select or All Access. The email offer I got was $119.88 for a year for the All Access package, and $99 for the Select.

Didn't know they had one of those. Gonna see if they still offer it.

    Edit: Nope. Bummer.

I believe they discontinued or 2011 or so but it can't hurt to ask.

In my previous vehicle I was offered 3 years for 180 bucks. However that was not transferable to another vehicle and I knew I was not going to keep the vehicle much longer. I have asked for that promotion but they won’t offer it! Ugh

So what do you do when you call after the promo period? Do you keep getting the same promo every 5 or 6 months?

I let my subscription lapse and just received an offer for $60 for the year.

I did not sign up since tired of calling every year and threatening to cancel to get a better deal.

That is a great deal. Does that include his Lord and Savior, Howard Stern?

I try to call before the promo period ends and then I sign up for another 5 or 6 month plan - whatever they are able to offer. Been doing this for about a year and a half. We have two plans (my Tundra and my wife's car) and they each have a different end date so I need to call ever few months for one of the cars. Once I forgot to renew before the promo ended and i got the $19 charge for 1 month's service. Called SiriusXM the day I noticed the charge and got set up with a new promo plan and the $19 that I had already paid was credited towards my new plan.

It is a paid to need to renew all the time but they always treat me right.

Good luck. I wish I had kept the offer to post.

No, it was their middle plan.
