What is the most durable paint for alloy wheels for street use?

    Thank you.

I have had a lot of luck with Dupl-color. Used it all the time for rock rash on my Disco wheels.

    Can I do it myself?
I am not a painter, what kind of prep is needed?

    Clean very well
    Dupli-Color surface prep wipes
    Primer
    Paint
Tape, so you dont get paint on the tires
Cover everything so you dont get overspray everywhere.
The better the prep the better looking the job
Not hard at all, just take your time and be careful not to get runs, too much paint in one area at once.

The wheels don't have tires on them yet, so it should be even easier.

On a side note. Are you one of the M14/M1A gurus over on one of the boom stick forums?

I meant to ask before. It also took a little while to put 2 and 2 together. I have liked your toys for longer than a minute now. Sorry for the squirrel moment.

Good stuff, been using it for years with great results but its only as good as your prep work. A good practice I do is I heat the rims up for about 30 min in the morning sun, spray them and let them "bake" in the morning/mid afternoon sun for a few hours.
