    The cadan thing, rear driveshaft, shop says can't fix it. Need to know what's the best course of action. $1500 driveshaft is not an option.

    Yeah on my T100 I had same issue about 3 yrs ago, I couldn't find at dealership, juat that part, happened to find one at driveshaft shop for $400

    Was also considering going to machine shop with an aftermarket double cadan that is serviceable with standard size u joints and having them cut the old one off and weld the new one on. Does that sound possible?

    Not sure I was having trouble with the U joints in the cardan area late evening out of town for work happen to find a shade tree mechanic to slap on but he kinda messed up one of the slots where u joint goes through so I bought a new one shaft with cardan $400

    Are you at a normal run of the mill auto repair place? If so try searching for a drivetrain shop, some place that works on tractor trailers, farm equipment, or similar. They usually have the tools to replace and balance everything.

    To bad you didn't break down in Colorado Springs, I would have sent you to Drivetrain Specialist. They build all my driveshafts for my Jeep. Usually around 400.00 for a complete one...and they have repaired a few to say the least.
