S**t that's a good deal! I have an Advanced Auto a few blocks away! I'll buy the goodies and still have my Grease Monkey guy do it.

Thought so too. Went in yesterday looking for licence plate frames as mine are banged up. Was shocked at how expensive licence plate frames have become and how hard it is to just find a basic frame without spending $20 per.

Turned the corner and saw the sale tag on oil. Couldn’t believe it and had to confirm with manager who couldn’t believe it either but confirmed in their computer system. Snagged 2 jugs 2 filters. AA isn’t advertizing it on their web page either.

I'm going to call before they close and see if they have the same sale. Could be a local managers sale but AA usually has the same deal at all stores. Hold off on the frame. I've tried to convince @Bob, our ruler, to come up with T.com frames.....Hi Bob!

Going to try and get in on this deal. I think I'll need a couple of Singles to finish up the oil change though.

Sore that Home Depot has that Pennzoil ‘Full Synthetic’ at $27 for 5qt. jug. Fram oil filters for $4 each.

Not sure its the same as Mobil1.

the fram ultra guard line is comparable to other premium filters, I would never buy their lower tiers

They said my suspension was fine at 5,10,15,20. But I removed the swaybar at 3k miles...

I want to trust it. I’ll probably just pull the trigger. I don’t really wheel anyway.

I was skeptical too, been on 13k miles so far. I did buy the plastic protector though.

I’ll be buying that myself. They’ve been around for a long time. A ball valve holding all my engine oil back is a little scarey. Why can’t-they make a hand spun threaded cap for then end?

My dealer offers free oil changes for life. I’ve thought about the Toyota care plus to handle the costs on the 4x4 system after 2/25k. Thoughts?

I'm with @BTBAKER on pretty much everything he said in this thread. I don't care if it is "free" - in my experience, the people that they put on oil changes at dealerships are usually not the brightest bulb in the box. I tried the free oil changes on my Tundra twice - only to discover that they were effing it up. And, like BT said - they don't ever do everything on the list for services. Like he said, as long as I am physically capable, I will do all the maintenance on my vehicles. Or, take it to a mechanic I trust (I only have one of those - and he doesn't work at a dealership). That way I know it is done right.

I have one place that only works on Toyota/Lexus. It is where I have my wife bring the Highlander because I don’t want to do it. Lol.
I would allow them to work on my vehicle but I’m capable and I’m anal. I know precisely what I have done.
If it’s a two man job or something more in depth I get my brother involved. He’s been an F-16 mechanic for 20+ years. Now that guy in beyond anal!

@T-Rex266 I made an appointment at Groove to see if they can find this vibration that has been driving me nuts. One guy on here said the TSB for the brakes fixed his. I wish I knew what they did.
Anyway, requested @thefatkid. Appreciate the heads up.

I would add that everyone needs to do what they are comfortable with.

I personally had a bad experience with a local Mazda dealer years ago. (They have since gone out of business) When I went into the service department to request a repair while under warranty that put up every argument possible. I had done all of the vehicle service since new. They did not accept my annotations in the service log as fact. They wanted to see every receipt for oil, oil filters, air filters etc. that were used to perform all of the services I had documented. Needless to say that was a scramble to get all my receipts out. Fortunately I had kept them. Turns out they could never duplicate the problem after having the car for four days. I ended up figuring it out and fixing it myself anyway.

Sometimes I find it easier to let the dealer service it. That way it is in the computer no matter what part of the country I am in. As I have an extended warranty, the dealership will probably do most of the service. Hard for them to argue when they did the service in case of problems later. A friend had things repaired long past warranty by the local dealer as a show of appreciation for a long standing customer.

    Just some thoughts...……...
