    Hi guys,

Living in ND really limits my options for shopping around for a new vehicle. For that reason, I've decided to compile a list of all Toyota dealers in the bordering states to search for the absolute best price. My list is not quite finished, but so far I've only come up with 38 dealers within the four state area.

Because of this, I've decided to expand my search to include some of the largest dealers by volume in hopes of seeing some more competitive pricing. If the price is right, I don't mind traveling. Can you guys recommend some large volume dealers throughout that US to include in my search? For example, I've already added Longo Toyota to the list. They are based out of CA, and are supposedly the largest dealer in the US.

What about the dealers in San Antonio near the plant?

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. If can recommend individual salesman too that may be helpful.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Denver Metro/Front Range has a few semi large volume Toyota dealers. Not far from ND. Stevenson's East/West, Groove, Mountain States, Larry Miller

I have not seen anyone touch the price that I paid for my 2018 Limited from Toyota of Kirkland in Washington State. They gave my buddy the exact same deal last week.

    Hey Ryan,

I bought mine at Longo last month from Laura Tan. That chick knew her onions when it came to trucks. Their prices were ridiculous enough for me to drive 100 miles for...but all the way from ND???

    My Two Cents:

If you're looking as far away as SoCal, don't waste your time with any of the dealers in SD. Toyota of Orange and Crown Toyota in Ontario, CA had some of the better pricing I saw during my search. Mark Miller and Karl Malone (both Salt Lake City-ish) were also pretty competitive. I'm not a fan of Larry Miller in Phoenix (and a dozen other cities) because those unethical snakes took advantage of my elderly mother over a freaking Camry.

If you're looking out-of-state, you'd best bring your A-game! I found that they will quote you anything, ANYTHING to get your ass on a plane. When you're a thousand miles from home, sitting in their lobby sipping their Keurig coffee, they've got you right where they want you. What are you gonna do, walk out empty-handed because the price they quoted you was on a vehicle they "sold" while you were en route, and the only other one they have happens to be $1200 more because of exhaust tips and door sill protectors you don't want or need? Caveat emptor, brother. Do your homework, get it in writing, and keep track of stock#/VINs on their "promises". The internet has changed the game, but they still stack the deck in their favor.

Billion auto in Sioux Falls, SD. I had a local dealer in Spirit Lake IA beat Billions pricing and they are way smaller than most Toyota dealers as they are also a GM dealer. Okoboji GM Toyota was good to me. Check around Minneapolis some up there are big but I have no dealings with any up there

I got mine at Longo also. I’ve purchased all my vehicles from there. Don’t ever go to Crown Toyota in Ontario, I’ve had nothing but horrible experiences there. Maybe because John Elway owns it (hehe :crapstorm:) Longo is definitely a one stop shop with a massive amount of inventory.

I shopped all of San Antonio, Dallas and Houston. Toyota of Boerne and Fred Hass had best pricing. I purchased from Toyota of Boerne, also a Gulf Coast states dealer setup.

Curious how the various configurations differ from region to region? What's different about the Gulf Coast states compared to the Midwest?

Most of the trucks I looked at on lot had spray in bed liner, running boards, tailgate power lock, bed lights and bed rail system installed before it hits dealer lot. The dealer usually adds a couple other items like tint, clear bra, nitro fill, etc... to squeeze a few more bucks out of you. Also noticed a lot of TSS packages here in TX, basically wheels and badges added.

as @jtwags said, It's the different "editions" - TSS OffRoad and TSS Sport editions are Golf Coast "configurations." Different regions will do different packages. I'm sure you'll see different ratios in stock too - looking in colorado/utah (mountain west in general) you're probably going to find way more 4x4 than 2wd because of the demand (Toyota will ship more 4x4 to that region). When I was looking here it seemed close to 50/50, maybe a bit more 2wd than 4x4 - but I was looking at the SR5 trim level with the black TSS package, wasnt paying much attention to the other trim lines / options packages.

My TSS Offroad came with Toyota (Tundra branded) all weather floor mats, black badges, nurf bars, 285/55/20 tires with their rim. Other options came with it too, but I think that's all that came with the TSS OR package.

(bottom pic is after I added the Spyder smoked headlights and winjet smoked tail lights - those are aftermarket - didnt come stock)

Bothers the hell out of me that they have the "Golf Coast TSS Edition" then they go and add sensors and shit calling it "TSS" (Toyota Safety Sense)... Mines a 2017 and I dont have the sensors and shit (and I prefer it that way).

And in the Denver Metro Area I've seen most knock around $5k off MSRP on a 2018 SR5 4x4 when I was price shopping.

They are on my list as well. I'm friends with the owner's daughter. Not expecting a deal because of that, but I'll give it a shot.

Bought my Pro at Ressler a year ago. I was very pleased with the whole buying process. They have very fair prices compared to other dealers with in 500 mile square radius. That's awesome you have connection!

Longer list than the wife needs to know about....
Ressler in Bozeman is easy to deal with but if you are looking as far as California you will probably find a cheaper options.
Ressler won't really deal on price, they tend to have a take it or leave it attitude since they know someone around here will buy it.

I'd be careful when you start looking in other regions. Features we assume are present (Like 4WD because why would you buy a 2WD?) are not a given in other regions.

I'd love to find something closer to home, but I'm guessing that I'll find the best deals in another region. I've been looking on dealer websites all over the US and have found each one to be very different with regards to the options. Some specifically list out the packages, while others just list some features without specifically mentioning a package. Once I find the exact truck that I want, I'll send each dealer the VIN and stock number to make sure we're on the same page.

Resslers seems to be priced pretty competitively to most of the bigger dealerships. They used to own the GM dealership in my hometown and it seems their pricing structure really hasn't changed. They typically put their best price on the window and don't tend to deviate from that by much.

That pretty much sums Ressler up. I purchased my truck at MSRP, every dealership I talked to that had a Pro wanted another 2K over MSRP. I also had a great experience buying from them. I will buy from them again, in another 15 years.
