I have an old body style 2000 Tundra 4.7L V8 SR5, am I in the right place?
I am here to get some insight on this truck. There is over 200,000 miles on it, and it was bought by my bride in 2004 with about 70,000 miles with a good maintenance record, and I have kept up with the routine maintenance and is now our 3rd back up vehicle.
The truck had a battery draw and it was isolated to an aftermarket alarm and the original clock and both have been taken out but now the solenoid on the starter does not engage every time.
I found one video explaining that the starter is under the air intake and seems to be a pain in the ass to access but I am willing to do it.
Since I have the hood open, intake off I plan on cleaning the intake out as well, replacing all of the gaskets accordingly, water/coolant pump and and hoses.
What else should I replace? My goal is to is to get at least another 100,000 miles.

    Welcome to the forum!

If you are hoping to get some questions answered I would post them in a different section of this forum.

Maybe 1st Generation Tundras or general Tundra discussion.

The new member section is mostly for the intro's, which you did just right!

Happy to have you here I hope someone can answer your questions!

Thank you gentlemen, I'm about 30 min just outside of San Antonio. I can post some photos tomorrow, but its stock. two tone green over tan clear coat is pealing on the hood and left quarter panel. The LQP was repaired in 2009 after some bad ass winds impaled a branch threw it. Bad body work caused that clear coat to peal.
