    I can respect that.

We have the same 50” width limit on most of our trails. I’m actually surprised someone hasn’t said “get a RZR” in this thread. These machines are worthless in CO.

On the flip side, I’ve seen just as many dirt bike riders be total retards as well. Same goes for Jeeps and Toyota’s being off trail tearing stuff up. It’s not the machine, but the operator to fault.

We recently had a member here that was banned due to illegal activity Offroad in a park that was posted on social media.

Keep an eye open on this FB page. Some really good deals pop up. If you need a shipper I have a guy that is really good and decently priced. Maybe a few hundred bucks.

Thank you for all your continued information and help, it has been very helpful on the decision process.

I just bounce back and fourth between the 2 and 4 strokes. I have the mechanical ability to rebuild both, and both have ups and downs of either.

Been in your spot last year. Try and test ride a 2T and go from there.

Oh try a 17/18 300. The counter balancer makes a HUGE difference from previous models.

I used to ride Can-Ams, 1980 250 and a 81 125 great motors. Im thinking about a Crf 250, not much fun riding outlander with the boy's on there bikes.

5k for a 17? Scam or it was flogged. It could be a steal though if real. Especially with the lectron as its the "easy button" for jetting. And Rekluse makes it a cheater bike.

The TX has AER forks and are way better than the xplore forks. No respringing.

I'm not sold on TPI yet....thats just me.

The 450 xcf is an animal. I'll always have a soft spot for them.

I just went and looked at the 2017 KTM XC-F 450. 2.9 hours on it. However, I really like the updates and changes for 2019.
Funny, I ended up knowing the guy and having a few beers with him. Small world.

The 450 of yesterday has no candle to the 450 of today. That KTM rips..

Was testing out the new bike for my 10 year old, needed a little work, brakes, chain, sprockets, and a rear tire. It's a good trail bike for him for the price.

Wow. Been getting pricing on 19' 450 XC-F 11500.00 out the door.

That 2017 with low miles is talking to me.

I'm not interested in a 2smoke anymore. I briefly looked at them, not my thing.

Thanks for the continued support for a 2smoke though. Someone has to keep them alive.

I got a little bored today and went and checked out the other local motorcycle shop we have in town.

Looked at the Yamaha 2018 YZ450F. This is pretty much the only 450 they had in the Yamaha flavor. Price was 2500 less than KTM/Husqvarna 450’s.

    C47EDFAF-8FF4-4128-9BE1-B8D34B0FBED8.jpg BC97E3E1-7D4A-4B9F-BF1D-288B357DC379.jpg

Next up was a 2017 Honda CRF450RX. Yeah, that wasn’t a typo. They still had a 2017 on the showroom floor. Not impressed, and to me that says something.

    E9925FC4-E7DF-4FCA-897B-6402EE04A8B2.jpg
Oh, now I know why it’s still sitting here...but the sales manager said he would shave a couple hundred off for me..

After delivery fees, tax and title I would be paying almost 10k for almost 3 year old tech. B42028C7-D226-49AF-A04E-0CD92CEC355C.jpg

Then I looked at the Husqvarna. Damn those are light bikes in comparison to the 17 CRF450.

    8B4142A9-2BB1-4991-A550-B95F832E3075.jpg
    C8EE8533-F523-4E22-9061-548B96F7CFA4.jpg

All said and done, this would be around 11500.00.

    First impressions:

YZ- it felt really comfortable, has the best suspension, can connect and tune via your smart phone. That’s kick ass.
Only thing needed would be a new spark arrestor end cap for 140.00. Not bad.

Now I will have to do some more research on the 19 YZ450FX. I do know it comes with a WR trans, not sure if it has a spark arrestor from the factory.

CRF- I was a little disappointed with this 17’. Ergo’s were good, and comfy, but that’s where it stops. I’m not a fan of the dual exhaust. Again, this needs two end caps for spark arrestor requirements....on the off road model. Electric start, but no mapping changes made easy or cheap. I’ve already talked to people that say the Honda 450 is a bit to handle.

Husky- Wow. This is a sweet ass bike. Like the KTM, it’s ready to ride off the showroom floor. Ergo’s and tech are ahead in its class. The sales manager has one and he enjoys the mapping changes and the traction control on hill climbing.

I have came to the conclusion that I will not be purchasing in my city, and will be heading up north to the Denver motorcycle shops.

Some good info in here. Have a cheap (slow) quad for the family now. Hoping to have a cheap faster dirt bike to beat up. I have no experience with riding dirt bikes but have always wanted to do it. Experience with R6 and feel comfortable on a motorcycle. Excited to try out a lighter more nimble bike on the trails. When the boys are older i think i will be able to do more.

@csuviper even with your street experience I would start with something timid if injuries could affect your work.

Many of us have been riding dirt for decades and still find a way to booger our bodies up!

    It is quite addicting though!!

if you're going to be on the trails and not much MX, stick with the 18" rear, you'll thank me later. The YZF would be horrible in the mountains, it can be done, but you'll be paying a price to make it work as well as the FX.

The FX also has the AER fork, although the 18's have changes that make them a bit better then the 17's.

That Kawi....do NOT EVER sell it, EVER.

check out http://www.munnracing.com/ he usually can beat any price you get on new bikes and I think he still will ship it to you in the crate. He used to anyway.
