So what do you guy see as a fair price for the following set up labor wise:

Ome 3” lift with darker rear packs and spc uca
    Alignment
    Front and rear gears

The shop I’m getting it done at did my last truck but what I was unaware of (prolly cause I had them order everything but the wheels and tires) is if I order the parts it’s 100$ hr labor if I order through them it’s 60$ hr.

When I talked to them they said figure about 15hrs worth of work so 900-1500 labor depending where I get the parts from

My question would be how much is the cost of parts difference between if they order it or you order it. It looks like you could save around $600 in labor, but are you going to get marked up more than $600 on the parts?

Doubt full I know the last time when they did the taco they charged exactly what toytec charged and then I bought wheel and tires. I guess the big question is with gears seeing as though they are about 1299 -1399 for the set, I did find them online for 1149 but your right the 150 doesn’t equal the marked up labor

What about hours does that seem average? I have the paper at home I forgot what they said exactly but they said gears would 8-12hoyrs and the lift about 4-6. I feel like a shop that does that shit should be able to get it don’t in under 4.

My taco I paid 849$ I believe in labor for one lift Dakar leafs and soccer uppers, and alignment it was under 900$ I know that

There pricing makes sense to me. To much risk for them not to charge more for just labor versus parts and labor

The local shop in my area charges exactly the same as in the original post. $100 labor with my parts or $60 labor with parts ordered thru them.

I would give it a go myself. I installed my lift myself and I never did it before. It saved me a ton of money for other mods. When I was finished, I took my truck to get an alignment and I had the shop spot-check my work. No issues for4 months.

Yup! That’s what I did. Only cost me parts and alignment. I am by no means a mechanic. But I am mechanically inclined and I can turn a wrench as well as follow directions.

3-4” lift kits are pretty straightforward but I personally wouldn’t DIY a 6” or higher. When it comes to cutting cross members etc I’m out. I like the warranty I get from the shop in case anything goes wrong.

Yes if they’re not built and you’re using your stock springs. But mine were take off pro suspension pre-assembled.

Good to know other see similar prices I’ll prolly give the shop a call tomorrow see what’s up. I was there about 3 maybe 4 weeks ago now and given they were on a 2 week vacation through the 4th of July week so I’ll see if they have any prices on anything yet, they were supposed to be getting all that

If it’s a shop you’ve done considerable business with before, they’ll most likely keep their margins slim on the hardware. Just remind them you’re a repeat customer and have done and will continue to do substantial business with them. Also, be prepared to have your own hardware pricing on-hand for comparison.
