Hi guys, just took delivery of my 2016 Tundra CrewMax TRD OffRoad. I really like the Durastep bars, but I'm afraid they might be too big / hang too low for a stock height truck. For the life of me, I can't find any dimensions nor pics of them installed on a stock height truck.

Does anyone know if these bars would hang too low (or look stupid) on my stock height truck?

Here's a pic of my new ride:

Nice find, thank you. That is a TRD Pro, which I think are lifted 2" over a regular Tundra like mine. But comparing pics, it looks like they'd be ok on mine. What do you think?

They look clean. I'd do it. Kind of pricy in my opinion though

To me it looks like you would snag them just driving off a curb. I'd rather have White knuckle sliders that double as a step, keeps the higher clearance look. A few others make something similar. If I'm not looking for protection I would go with amp power steps. Just my preference though.

I have Body Armor rock steps but their site only shows 07-13. Ranch Hand has somewhat similar step as the N-Fabs that appear to be a little higher/closer to the body and they make them for your truck if I'm not mistaken:

Body Armor Rock Steps (You could call them and see if they make them for 14's and up)They are very heavy:

Just installed them. Judging from appearance only, the quality seems good so far. I will post some pics soon and probably do a review in the proper section.

Here is a horrible picture with glare, I was very busy and didn't have time to take a nice one outside. Also the truck is filthy. I'm happy with them, need to wash the truck to get a better feel haha. Anyway, Iron Cross HD steps on a stock height CM.

Lookin good.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: I was down to two choices.. the Iron Crosses and the Body Armor Rock steps. I just happened to stumble on a great price on Amazon for the B Armors. Your Iron Cross are very low profile like the Body Armors. You lose pretty much zip on clearance and still have a step. Take a look... your Transfer case is still slightly lower as with my B Armors. A good transfer case skid plate is on my list.

@jtberr.......What do you think???? both of these options may be what you are looking for. Plenty of clearance, both look good, heavy duty. Only thing better are frame mounted rock sliders which are easily twice as much and you may have zero need for them. Also most rock sliders cost even more if you want any kind of plate/screen welded on top. Sliders are not kid/wife/dog friendly at all. Only get sliders if you need them.

Here's a pic of my Body Armors. As you can see they similar in profile to the Iron Cross HD. Both are top notch choices IMHO for what you may be looking for:

    CAM00507.jpg

I added my own step grips. I actually have covered the entire top of each rock step with the same step material since I took this pic.

Thanks! Your Body Armors also look great. The two seem very similar. I hadn't seen Body Armors before buying or Inmaybjave gone that route! I may end up having the silver step plate Line-X'd to keep everything black.

I REALLY like the looks of those. I think I'm totally changing direction based on this discussion. The Body Armors look super solid. You drill the frame for those to install I think, right? (I might be scared to do that, lol)

The nfabs look funny on a stock truck IMO, but you're not going to snag them on-road. You can judge for yourself:

Direct bolt on to chassis. No drilling. Most aftermarket step are that way. Rock sliders mount to the frame ( at least the best ones), either bolt on or preferably welded on. Remember that sliders serve a different purpose. You need to decide what best for your wheeling needs.

I went with the Iron Cross Patriots all black (ordered from AutoAnything, should have them next week). I was down to those, the Iron Cross HD's and the Body Armors. I probably like the Body Armors the best but thought they might be a bit much on a stock truck. The patriots looked good on both stock and lifted trucks from pics I found. It's gonna be awhile before I can do a lift w/wheels & tires, and when I do I (hopefully) won't need to swap steps.

I promise I will post pics when I get them installed.

I REALLY appreciate all you guys' advice & pics. It soooo helped me make my decision and probably avoid a mistake (for my setup) with the N-Durasteps. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
