The event is a fundraiser in which we have a Show and Shine Car show (enter for trophies) with categories for best OR, most capable, best of show, fan favorites etc. So basically a car show for your 4wd street and OR vehicles from mild to wild. We also have a pretty good raffle, swap meet spaces for those who have stuff to sell, and also booths for things like Search & Rescue, Rubicon Trail Foundation, Forest Service, and of course, the Friends of the Rubicon 4wd OR Ice cream Truck! Last year the Forest service brought in a small RC Track w cars and let the kids (big and small) run a mini Rubicon course. A fun event...

I think that doing some kind of group thing would be a great idea and we could get some of the members from the area to take whatever donation it would be to the swap meet... I was also big with toys for tots as my dad was a marine and we helped with program when he was in

I'm near Buckley AFB. There is a USMC Weekend Warrior Reserve unit that supports the "baby" USMC F-18's that reserve pilots fly and smoke the USAF active duty F-15/16's every weekend. :infantry::infantry::infantry:Toys for Tot's is highly organized here and at CO Springs. Maybe you northern Cal Tundra/Taco guys can work something out. Put on your thinking caps and work something out. Meet and greet each other for a good cause. Make it happen.....That's an order..

Reply to all the above.....yes, you can bring your expo trailer as part of your entry into the show & shine comp. For those who can't make it to the event you can contact Amy at the email listed and see about buying some raffle tickets (you don't need to be present to win, though if you win the winch or such we would need to see about getting it to you). Or any donations of extra stuff for the raffle is also always appreciated. If you have something you won and can't use and want to donate it you can send it to Toys on the Rocks c/o Bob Brown 5037 Clear Creek Road Placerville, Ca 95667 include a note with the item and I'll make sure it is included in the raffle along with who the donation came from. We have been doing this event for 10 years to help raise money for Bikes which are donated to T for T at the Xmas Parade in Placerville. We used to do other events, but this one has stuck. We donate 20+ bikes a year for about 20 years...so a whole lot of bikes! Any support is greatly appreciated!

There will be sign up's available for both the S & S and Swap Meet Spaces at the event. We have a raffle which is what actually raises the money for the Bikes and such. Buy Tickets! If you happen to have something you want to donate to the raffle that is also appreciated.....

Yep...we do the Toys for Tots donation at the Placerville Xmas Parade which isn't until the 1st. Sunday in Dec. Usually we end up with about $1200 for bikes and Walmart matches us for 10% so it works pretty good. xmas1.jpg

Thanks to the Tundra Board folks who made the long road trip to come to our event! Hope you had a great time. Started out slow, but quite a few folks showed up by the time it was over. Vendors ranged from USFS with their Mini Rubicon Track and RC cars for kids of all ages to play with to Power Tank and the Rubicon Ice Cream Truck for those who didn't get enough to eat from the Tri Tip Sandwiches & Homemade Beans that were being served up. Raffle went well with the winnings being spread out among a lot of folks which is always good. Show and Shine had one of those Chrysler Products winning the Kids Choice and an amazing FJ40 from
Nevada cleaning up on most of the rest of the awards.

Hey Bob, it was a pleasure meeting you, Stewart, Steve, and Erik. Got to see some cool rigs that day! I guess I won a raffle and been trying to get a hold of Carol to give her my address, but no luck.
Anyway here are some photos I took. Got some good information from Steven @ Powertank and will probably give him a visit in a couple months to pick up one! Great folks! Thanks again for the invite.

I'm bummed I couldn't get my truck back together in time and make it to this. Didn't get it road worthy until about midnight.

Yeah I ran into all kinds of unexpected problems. New motor mounts wouldn't fit because my frame is so tweaked. I had to hack them up and reweld. And I discovered 3 out of the 4 front shocks had blown IFP seals and were hydrolocked. I got new seals and oil overnighted, but just didn't have time to get it done Friday.

If you don't hear back from her, drop me your mailing address at ( watermanbob77@gmail.com ) and I will see that it gets sent out to you. Glad you enjoyed the event...was smaller than normal due to some conflicts, but still worked out pretty good.
