New member. I'm sure this topic has been mulled over a bazillion times. I have 2007 crewmax. Steel bumpers on both ends. Added bilstein 5100 adjustable level shocks two years ago up front at the 1.4 inch setting. It sits about level unloaded. Sits proud up front loaded or with a trailer on. I am doing a lot more hauling and towing so I need to increase the payload and tongue weight capacity but I'm not looking for too much lift. I'm not really interested in the hassle of airbags. Looking at overloads or add a leaf kits without a bunch of extra lift. Basically what I need is for this thing to be a 3/4 ton truck. I know the engine, drive line, and axles can handle it, just need extra support in rear without adding too much height.

I finally decided to go with the airbags. They were on sale and reviews were good. I figured I won't be out much if I don't like them. I just finished yesterday and towed the boat to launch. It's only three miles so not a lot of time yet. With 12 psi the truck sits a lot better in the rear with trailer on. These bags say I can go up to 100 psi. I'll be experimenting with pressures. Installation was painless and went quick. I didn't add the air compressor so I had to locate the schrader valves. For now I just did one schrader for each side. That is how the kit came. I might tee them together at some point. Deciding where to locate the valves I noticed two holes just above the tailgate hinges, one on each side. No drilling required.

Cut off at 3/4 inch height per directions with kit. Directions say the bump supports the bottom plate but it's actually just enough clearance for the head of one of the bottom hex head fasteners. The fastener is in contact jounce bumper but the bumper is not completely supporting the plate. I used my Rockwell sonic-crafter tool to cut it, worked great. The bags have an internal jounce bumper.

@JTP added doubled AAL’s for towing on his, he may have a build in the 2nd gen builds section that details it.
