Sold sold sold! For sale is a set of RX-350 retrofit headlights. They were built by Leo in May of 2017. Full disclosure- the right side (passenger) shroud went out about 3 weeks ago. The led strip still functions and the drivers side is perfect for both. The headlights themselves are phenomenal, but I have decided to move on and go with 18s. Leo will honor warranty, but he wanted me to cover shipping both ways ($100+) for the warranty repair. I would rather lose money to one of you guys and have these go as a project than do that. Buyer can feel free to send them in for warranty repair, and they should be solid after that.

    -Satin black housing
-RX-350 projector (king of HID projectors)
-Chrome panamera shrouds with DRL and switchback
-LED strip on bottom with DRL and switchback
-Osram CBI bulbs on the kit right now (paid $110 for them)

Set will come with 3x Morimoto XB bulbs, brand new harness and motocontrol, spare harness and motocontrol, all wiring needed for plug n play.

Igniters and ballasts are 3 months old, headlights are working perfectly besides above listed

YUP. I am eating a huge loss on these, and they have tons of potential. However, I think they can be a solid set for a smoking deal if someone is willing to open them up and fix them. Parts and headlights alone are just about worth it.

We all know our situation, which is very unfortunate. SO much research and time went into my decision (like yours I imagine). Hopefully someone can benefit from my situation.

Oh yeah, even with the shroud led out, they still hold value in the headlight and projectors alone. The light output is WAY better than any factory headlight out there.

    Good Luck!

I agree 100%, I just decided 18s were better for my needs/wants. Nothing beats the output of those things though, I am having to adjust to that a little bit.

GLWS Ben. This seems to be an all to familiar story with a certain retrofitter. That said this is a screaming deal for someone willing to open these up and do them up right. There's nothing wrong with the quality of the components here, really you can't get much better, it's just poor workmanship and someone with some skill and desire to do it right will have a very very good set of projectors for a great price. Maybe buyer could even pay to just have them shipped to Leo and back to them if they don't wanna do it themselves, still a smoking deal.
Side note...The shipping costs just for the core and new set had me running away from his retros, then the quality issues had me running faster. I'm sorry you ran into these issues it sucks. All is not lost though, you'll love the 18s even though they aren't near the king rx350s. They are OEM and you won't have to deal with issues.
It sucks he makes you pay for warranty issue shipping, not a great business model IMO. Someone who stands behind their work and does it right the 1st time would be willing to warranty including shipping. Maybe if that were the case, you wouldn't have issues because basically the warranty work costs him nothing but time.
If this is too much posted please let me know and I'll take it down. I hope you sell these as much as I hope someone buys them, be sure it's a great deal for the right guy that's for sure.

eh... i wouldn't throw a certain retrofitter under the bus... more their selection of components... yes... perhaps a higher quality, more expensive vendor of LED components should have been selected by said retrofitter... but they're not that easy to find. When i built my retros, I lucked out as i wanted a clean simple, stock-ish, look so didn't do shrouds or strips or any other BS... but when i was considering it, i looked for Cree or Philips components and couldn't find what i was looking for. After peeling apart those lights once, there was no way in hell i was going back to fix anything and my experience of anything other than "major brand" has been sketchy.

Pudge my man, you got it just right and I sincerely appreciate the sentiment. It's not too much at all and I believe you are exactly right on all accounts.

@tomsinamerica this is in no way specifically designed to call out a specific builder. However, if you dig a little bit on this topic, there are a number of builder related concerns that @Pudge is referencing vaguely to actually somewhat protect that individual. I don't think the shroud is anyone's fault. Components fail. I would actually suggest that whoever buys take the panameras out. I just know there are guys that make incredible retros that look darn near OEM. This build had some issues and I feel like for the price my expectations should have been met. I miss the output of my rx350s but do enjoy the OEM of the 18s.
This is an opportunity for someone to fix the small issues and have a killer set of retros at half the cost I paid.

I'm fine with calling them out. They selected those to save money knowing the issues with them and still do it. So for all the problems I've personally had, and many others with this "retrofitter", I think he deserves it.

But this thread isn't about that, so I hope someone sees them for what they are and are able to work with them to make it even better and get a great price.

Gents one shroud out is nothing. These projectors are awesome.

The worst part about doing a retro yourself is opening the lights because of the permaseal. Once they are opened, they are typically resealed with something way easier to open.

Good luck with your sale @folly87

Is it possible for someone to just disconnect the led's all together and have a kickass set of projector headlights?

Yup. That's how I ran them. Just a simple disconnect led harness. Pissed me off cuz of what I paid, but the headlights have no issues and are just phenomenal. Honestly the only weak point of the whole set up is the led wiring. If you don't mind the shrouds and strips not lighting up, the amber drl will run and the projectors will fire perfect. IMO that output can't be beat.

@MotoTundra, and all of you guys...I just want to say that THIS is why I love this forum. The support and vibe out of everyone is so encouraging. Sure the situation sucks for me. But I know someone will greatly benefit from this and I know that we all have a great thing here. I got to interact with some awesome dudes because of this.

Someone should grab these and just run them without the led's, like you did. Coming from someone that it running the same Rx350 projectors, the output is amazing. Perfect sloped cuttoff line, beautiful blue color shift, and not to mention....they are coming with the best bulbs on the market!
    Good luck with the sale!

I would make an offer on these if I had my normal disposable income (upcoming baby and getting the nursery ready is taking all of it). 1upper mentioned these to me the day they were posted for sale.

tempting, I would probably just run them without LEDs to save the hassle. So without the LED it would be just plug and play with said harnesses, just with a ballast in the middle?

Wish these were for sale a month ago. I'm going through a nightmare of an ordeal trying to re-build another used set I purchased that was basically falling apart when they arrived.

Yep, basically you just use the standard motocontrol harness...all pretty solid OEM type connections. Hardest part is cleaning the wires up nice and tidy. There is a separate harness for the LEDs (strips and shrouds) that Leo added. You COULD wire it and just not actually hook up the connectors, but IMHO I would just run the HIDs. Motocontrol gets wired with fuse to battery, then its just making connections to ground on either side and the actual headlights. I have the ballasts mounted on the headlights and igniters and bulbs will ship inside the headlights to save hassle. Amber DRL will run as normal (unless you clip gray wire).

That might have been confusing- long story short YES...it is simply plug and play and really straightforward. No LED DRL, but amber DRL would work as it does now. Only change is incredible HID projectors in place of the crappy halogen. Leveling motors still work as well.

I'm sorry man, I was tempted to put these up earlier but didn't pull the trigger and get them off my truck until just last week. Sorry to hear about your troubles! I hope something works out for you.

No worries...enjoy that experience! Not sure if its your first kiddo, but it sounds like you ACTUALLY have your priorities straight. Can't say that is the case with everyone!

Let me know if things pan out and you end up interested.

Thanks! Yes it is our first, so we had nothing to start with. Been doing what i can to pull the room togther. Helped out @1UPPER install his rack all day a few weeks ago for a very nice crib, refinished a beat up dresser. We are esentually paying $6K out of pocket for the birth - somehow it is way cheaper to have a midwife home birth than an in network hospital birth (with decent insurance). Need a JL Fix86?

Yeah, I don't doubt it. Things are pretty outrageous! Sorry to say, I don't have any need for audio stuff. Not opening that can of worms! Been there, done that.

Bump...anyone looking and scared off by the price??

I'll say it again- these do me no good sitting in a box. I will, within reason, do my best to make a deal that works for everyone!
