Current 02’ Tundra has had oil 5w-30 changed every 3-5k miles. Miles are sitting at 157k. Switched from dino oil to synthetic blend at about 120k.

Questions: Make the switch to full synthetic? If so, do the ‘high mileage’ synthetic? What brand do you recommend?

    Thanks in advance.

I had a '06 and only used full synthetic since I bought used at 20,000 miles. Changed every 5,000. Gave the truck to my nephew at 280,000 and was still running like new. Mobile 1.

I would go regular full synthetic, first change at 5k then 8-10k afterward. Mobil 1 great choice.

Not sure what the High Mileage stuff is about. If no smoke or leaks just use regular synthetic. Under 200K not really High Mileage for Tundra. :)

The Mobil 1 looks like the best. Will use the Mobil 1 with their filter on next change. Thanks for the input.

Do not know anything about the Mobil 1 filter. Consider the WIX (for synthetic), cannot go wrong and about the same price or lower. Many still use Toyota OEM as well.

Personally, I'm a fan of Vavoline full synthetic. I have used it on all of my vehicles for the last 18-20 years or so.
The main reason I like Vavoline, is when I change my oil after 5000 miles it looks like the day I poured it in.
It smells used but it doesn't look used. If that makes sense.
