One year ago today, @BlueBottle posted his installation pictures and became the first customer to install the FRAC Harness.

I was just reminiscing and thinking about how almost a year prior to that, I was just trying to figure out a way to see beyond the hood and park my new Tundra without jumping out to check the curb distance. When I soldered together a bunch of wire and parts to build that first FRAC harness, I never considered that hundreds of other people would want one as well.

I’ve learned a lot about the business side over the past year, and I put a lot of time and effort into building every FRAC harness to the standards I want for my own truck. I take a lot of satisfaction from that, but the most rewarding part of it for me is building a product that people love. I haven’t really advertised or marketed the FRAC harness and so the business has grown slowly; mostly by word of mouth on this awesome forum! I really love that.

Demand is growing and I want to keep pace and maintain quality. I’ve also got a few other ideas in the works and they are slowly moving towards realization. So I’m continuously learning how to do things more efficiently. It’s a fun journey so far. I hope to keep it going for a while.

So thanks to all of you who have entrusted a few of your hard-earned dollars with me. I hope you are still happy with the product. And a great big thanks to the mods who make this forum and this great community a reality. We’ve got a pretty special place here.

Have a safe and happy Holiday.

    Lou

Happy Independence Day to you and your family.

Thanks, and I appreciate the referrals! I agree with you about the mirroring, it’s something that sounded cool when I first put the FRAC together, but it turned out to be a lot of expense and effort for very little utility.

Thanks again !! I use my FRAC every day and could not live without it . I use the rear camera in traffic as much as the front for parking . Proud to be part of that first group of customers !

I've got a lot of respect and admiration for you Lou, even if you are a Texan.....:boink: :crapstorm:. Seriously, great product, great quality and a great price. I seldom use it for parking like I'd imagined I would. It gets used 90% of the time off road. It's a fantastic upgrade and one of my favorite mods. When people mention the obvious mods I've done I'm quick to boast about the forward camera. It's kinda like rolling up along side an F150 and dropping the rear window.:D Thanks Lou!

Wow! Right up there with the rear window? Now THAT is a compliment! Almost makes up for the Texan comment... almost. :D

@TundraTex , do you have a FRAC that utilizes a single 3 way switch?

Yes. The camera select switch that comes with the FRAC Harness is a SPDT on-off-on rocker switch.

If you want the VIM enable function as well, that is a second SPST (on-off) switch.

As one of the first test subjects I'd like to say that it's alright... now if it had lasers ;)

Ahh, got ya. So VIM disable allows me to tell the car it is in park. I don't need to operate that in order to turn on the front/rear cam on at anytime?

Longer list than the wife needs to know about....
    That is correct.

@TundraTex - Love my FRAC I use it every time I drive the truck. Thank you!
I vaguely remember you'd mentioned you were looking into adding other camera options to the harness, did you ever find a way to wire in multiple cameras? It'd be kinda sweet to mount a remote camera line for the back of my trailer or a camera looking into the bed of the truck. Cheers

My truck bed was full and I had to use bike racks on the hitch to Palm Springs. While driving and hitting a couple bumps, I felt uneasy about the racks sounding loose. I didn't want to pull over just to check it out..then it clicked!

I've got the FRAC...flipped a switch...view of the rack on the screen. Rack is secure!

    Thank you @TundraTex

I do have a design and a prototype for the trailer cam mode. I just need to get it into production... So many irons in the fire... When it is ready, this will be the first place I'll announce it.
