Hey guys, new member here, I just picked up a 2005 DC SR5, it has the factory tint on the rear doors, does anyone know the tint % so I can match them up, I'm gonna try a precut 3M online for the front doors. Thanks 7c8cf3ada21320cf7b1791d87522ada3_8628ad4e685e7d6515f2fa4f27efaa0324ce01e8.jpg

Check your state law. I tinted mine at just under 30 (lighter than the rear windows), and I am technically illegal in PA. It's 70 or above that's allowed here. So far, no hassle from the cops, knock on wood.

Also, check to make sure your front windows aren't already tinted from the factory. MY 02 has fairly dark windows on the access cab doors and back window and a lighter tint on the front door windows (even the windshield says "Tinted & Shaded" and has a slight tint with the darker band on top, all from the factory. Whatever tint you put on will add to the existing tint if there, and will be darker than what you put on.

I had 20% on my front windows in my SUV I just traded for my Tundra. Never had any issues from cops and had been pulled over in it with the tint also. I plan on doing the Tundra windows in both driver and pass doors. All the others are tinted from factory. I love the look the tint provides. Will wait until the weather gets warmer longer then do them myself. Its not that hard if you take your time.

SO I attempted to tint my windows yesterday, ultimate fail!! I have done this before but after two attempts to install the tint I gave up. I have already spent 20.00 on tint and got nowhere. Very disappointing, so I have decided that I am just going to pay someone to do it. It's 100.00 to do both windows in any tint level I want. I figure this way it is done professionally and I don't have the aggravation it has caused me. Sometimes it is just better to pay someone else and spend less money in the long run if things don't work out when doing it yourself.

Got my windows done today. They had some openings so I went for it. I am really happy I did too. Very good job and warrantied if I ever have any problems. Thanks to Sharper Images for doing a professional job quickly. Check them out on facebook and you can see all the other great work they do besides tint windows.

100.00 plus PA sales tax. Came to 106.00 Definitely worth it. I only wish I wouldn't have spent money on the tint before that I tried to do myself. Lesson learned.
