Transmission oil drain and fill plus basic oil change and fluid checks

2nd owner to an 08 tundra crew max over 200k miles. I plan on getting things serviced new fluids before i drive out to Texas from LA.Truck has been running fine all around LA. Pulled my cousins 53 Chevy on a trailer from LA to visalia all thru the grapevine no issues temperatures stayed stable going and coming back. I just feel that before i make a longer trip and being that high in mileage plus not knowing if it was ever done. should i go ahead and get it done and would going thru a Valvoline oil station be OK or would a Toyota service department be better?? any advice would be great. Even on oil change and additives suggestions on oil being high mileage...i love this 08 truck and i do plan on up keeping it to run good.. Thank You.

 

I bought my 2010 5.7 CM with 166k & did the transmission following a write up here with Toyota fluid & filter at 170k.

I'm also the second owner, it was well kept up and everything is like new.

Take it to shop you can trust, Dealers and quick lubes are not always reliable.

I would recommend Mobil 1 or other synthetic oil. The tranny, Synthetic as well, no flush just drain and fill.

You might add your Differential serviced as well, (synthetic) not knowing the history.

 

thank you, yes i called the service dept for toyota they quoted me $256.00 for tranny and that it be synthetic oil, i called valvoline station, guy told me it be synthetic and it be 125 with coupon..i got it done for 125..lol..
