We would love to hit a few trails and would be honored if some of you guys would show us around. We will be planning this for the last week of july. Thanks in advance!!

If your going close to El Paso Caprock Canyon is pretty cool. They have bison roaming around. Then if you go into New Mexico check out Capulin Volcano. You can hike into the crater. Easy hike for all ages.

Shiprock in NM is pretty cool. It's off the highway a bit on a trail, but it's very easy (I did this in a 2001 Toyota Sequoia).

It's cool. Couple of all movie sets in the back. Can't remember if it was for John Wayne or Clint Eastwood. Also has a rattlesnake farm..if you're into those type of things

That's kind of what we are trying to decide. Ultimate ending point is GC. Looks like the main route will be I-40 pretty much all the way to AZ.. no cvt as of yet so whatever off roading we do will pretty much be a day trip... spend a day there and head on to the destination. Just trying to find a good place to see some scenery and hit some good trails.

Keep in mind that in New Mexico, Santa Fe National Forest and Carson National Forests are currently closed because of severe fire danger/current wildfires. Parts of Cibola are closed, and I am sure that other areas are closed also.
