LOL, I guess I am one of the lucky ones too, my wife took my truck to work yesterday, it never occurred to me to worry, however, she grew up on a farm driving all kinds of fun monstrous tractors and implements

goodthing my wife is scared of my truck she never asked to drive it she wont even move it out of the drive way
well that's because she once thought it would be a good idea to take my Tacoma to the store and backed in to a shopping cart after that I don't think it even crosses her mind

I trained my ex to drive the boat on the trailer. Fortunately the boat I had was real easy to drive on the trailer. It was tempermental when cold starting. You had to use the proper sequence and she never seemed to get it. I was always having to jump in the boat to start it. The other problem was if there was a heavy cross wind.

maybe i should care for my truck more but if she wants to borrow it.. she can have at it if i don't need it. I mean, i think my wife's pretty hot but watching her pull up in my truck... yeah... that's fucking hot.

Boat? that's a different story but when i had one, she never once had any interest in doing anything other than laying out on it.

    None, yet....
I’m probably gonna get hate for this, BUT.....................

Some of you married the wrong person...

My wife drives my truck all the time. Keys are on the front entry table thing and she takes it when she wants. No need for permission, or asking if she can, or anything. She just takes it if I don’t.

She’s also pulled a 24 ft car hauler with our crawler on it when moving cross country, roughly 9k lbs, and isn’t scared to try and back it up. She also wheels our crawler on occasion and isn’t scared to mash the the skinny pedal. If we had a boat, I’m sure she’d use that thing too.

So I’m not sure what the big deal is. If she doesn’t know how, show her. Obviously she has an interest in it, so I don’t see how getting your wife more into what you like to do is a bad thing. As I see it, your wife wants to do more cool shit, but because it’s “your” whatever and she doesn’t know how, you don’t take the opportunity to get her more involved? Seems odd.

Also, if you have a shifty brother-in-law and your wife is using “your” boat but also doesn’t pay close attention to taking care of “your” things, it’s probably cause you made it that way. My wife is into all the dumb shit I do Offroad. No one asks for permission and no one gives it. We both do it. Also, I’m sure that if you scratched the truck, I’m sure you’d get more of an earful from her than me. Cuz it’s “our” truck.. not mine.

I guess I’m with the minority on this one. My wife has no problem driving my truck. As someone said earlier, it’s actually pretty damn hot to see my wife driving it! The only problem is I’m OCD about keeping it clean and she could care less about keeping my truck or her Highlander clean. Needless to say, my Sunday washing routine takes twice as long.

Now as far as the boat, she’s never asked nor would I ever recommend that she take it out alone. Sure she’s driven it around a bit in the lake and the bay but there’s no way in hell I’d let her or ask her to launch/land it at the ramp. I’m sure we’ve all seen the YouTube videos of idiots on the ramp. And those are the people that own/operate the boats on a regular basis...

As for the OP, my in laws don’t own a boat or have any boating experience so I definitely wouldn’t let them go alone. Not sure about yours but from the sounds of it they don’t have any experience either.

If you could get the time off and take them out it’d probably be more fun for everyone. You’d be stuck with the in laws but at least your out on the boat and not at work!

Amen. Seeing my wife handle that 1 ton Diesel was pretty damn hot.

I agree. If she doesn't know how and wants to - then show her. I am pretty sure that everybody that has ever driven a truck/pulled a trailer didn't just start magically doing it on their own - somebody showed them. And then you practice. It isn't rocket science.

And yes, I have seen plenty of people that can't back a trailer for crap. Again - they might need someone to show them (and probably shouldn't be pulling a trailer until someone does show them).

Not all women are like your wife. Myself, my sister in law, her mom and her sister in law all drive/ have driven and pulled trailers with big ass trucks. There are a ton of women out there (and men for that matter) who are incompetent in both areas. Js....
