Extended Warranty - What Did You Pay?

i know there is a thread regarding “is a warranty worth it”, but I wanted to ask the masses what everyone paid and the terms of their extended warranty. THANKS!

What are the terms?

 

As in?

 

7 years/ 100k miles? 8 years/ 125k?

 

Bought a Tundra so I wouldn't need an extended warranty.

 

Yeah, good luck with that. I’m at $3800 in repairs on mine just in a week.

Stipulations on the lift kit height and tire size. Cannot go higher than a 6” kit and 3-4 tire sizes larger than stock

Brutal. What was in need of repair?

 

ABS Actuator and the body ECU/fuse block. Still having problems with it and gonna take it back in on Monday

 

7 years 100,000 miles was around 2k. Probably one of my biggest regrets so far buying the thing, I feel like I wasted my money. Good insurance policy I suppose though.

 

It was something over $2k at the time of purchase but the finance manager cut it to $1200 w/o even negotiating due to the much lower price my credit union would offer. These things always negotiable when you buy new.

 

Same here. About $4,000 in repairs for me on the TSS harness and pre-collision sensor. 1 harness and 3 sensors plus 8 hours of calibration

I was offered the 10yr/100k today for 1800, thinking I may do it.

 

that's a pretty good price, really good if it includes tax

Got the same one for my wifes 4Runner, but paid $1800. We tend to keep our new vehicles for 10 to 12 years.

Just bought the car today, but since I didn't pay for it, would I still get the same rate say next month or they would calculate it as an used car?

That sounds a little high. Check with Midwest Toyota. Jerry Johnson. He basically sells it at 20 bucks above cost (and no sales tax) May take a day or two for him to get back to you, but I have bought a couple through him. Had a local dealer show me what they paid from the book when I showed them jerry's offer. dude was pissed to say the least. Remember you can buy the Platinum warranty as long as you are in the 3 year 36k.

 

Can you share your numbers on maybe the most recent one you bought?

 

I just looked to see if I still had the email and i don't. I bought the warranty on my 07 and my 10. didn't really use it much so i skipped it for my 14.

Im seeing posts on other Toyota forums that he is. At least as of May 2018. He is a pretty nice dude, will ask some questions to make sure you won't be getting the wrong warranty.
