Finally here! I can't wait to install the safe, another little ad-on to my ride. Thank you all for your ideas and keeping the 2nd Amendment alive. God bless all our armed forces and all the fallen in battle. Bless you all!20160412_113413.jpg

    Some suspension tweaks
So the entire console "cavern" becomes one giant lock box?

Yes a cavernous one. LOL. This a must have really. all your documents, insurance, Radar detector, house keys and door openers should be keep here not in the console.

My only concern with having all my stuff (registration, POI, CCP, etc) in one spot is if you get pulled over and a policeman sees a gun while you're reaching for your paperwork, he's likely gonna draw on you. Other than that, love the idea of a lockbox.

yep bank account is running low from it..
When you get pulled over tell them (law)you have a firearm in a locked box and your paperwork is in there. Rarely do you have a problem. It should be the first thing out of your mouth not why you got pulled over.

I've been stopped while carrying - simply roll down all windows, (once stopped in a safe area out of traffics way) turn dome light on if at night, keys on dash- hands visible. Once they greet you, advise them of the weapon, loaded/unloaded, where its at and how they want u to proceed. DO NOT reach for anything until they give u direction. They don't want a surprise, and neither do u

That's per state. In CO you do not need to mention it. I still advise of my CCW (not that one is needed in CO to carry in Vehicle)

Cool mod, not for everyone though. I have no need for it. My wallet has all our registrations/insurance etc and I don't leave guns in cars except at work. My truck sits a few feet from my office, and someone will need to scale two 8' fences with barbed wire at the top to break into my locked truck.

Now if you have to leave valuables in the truck, great idea and my hat is off to you sir. I personally know two dumbasses that have had guns stolen out of their vehicles.

Another reason I usually do not shoot at gun ranges and always watch my six when going home.

@Sean266 is spot on on the law here in CO. I'm kind of conflicted on the matter actually, one of the sheriffs deputies in my hometown actually said not to disclose it unless you're specifically asked if you have a gun with you, as a "rookie" (his words, not mine) might lose his cool if you openly disclose. So I figured I'd just keep my CCP in the center console and the paperwork in the glove compartment.

They already know anyway that you are a CCW holder in CO.

My CCW stays in my wallet. Surrender that with ur DL.

Nope. Changed 4-5 years ago. U now have to run the individual and it's no longer attached to the plate.

Very true. Did you ever get on that AR-15 board Zach? There is a specific thread on this. A great read.

I tried to re-register, then I submitted a request for a new passcode when it wouldn't let me. I still haven't seen an email on it.

Pro tip- don't keep ur reg and ins in the glove box.

    Why?
ID theft ...some have taken reg out and committed ID theft
Other reason- lets say u have a garage door remote ...subjects takes ur info, and remote. U have no clue it's missing and probably presume it's just misplaced when u do discover the remote missing. Subject drives to the address listed -now has access to ur garage and maybe house.
CO law is u only need PROOF of ins. (Insurance app, etc) u can always place the reg in an owners manual, under a seat, between something, a book in the vehicle etc. ;)

^ Lucky :censored: lol. Had to speak with LE twice last year concerning vehicles, once to get a BS speeding ticket from a local police officer in Wiggins and the other when I fell asleep at the wheel and totaled my work pickup. I was pretty appreciative of how the officer with CSP handled my accident though.

Regardless for me, mine is in the "glock" holder with a holster. It is VERY visible and easy to get...just like it should be. The officer is notified about the weapon since it is in the open. Never had an issue.

I'm the same way, I just tuck mine in a soft holster between my seat and the center console.

Haha well hell, if it weren't for me working crazy hours at the time I'd of never had that accident. And let's not talk about the speeding ticket, or I'll likely get worked up lol. I'm still a little gun shy while driving since that accident.

Oh I understand that. After 16 hours, my employer can choke on a bag of dicks.

Bad accidents like that effect you long after. My wife still drives like a retard after hers in 13'

Couldn't agree more. If I get pulled over I give them my license and concealed weapons license. It calms them down. If they pull you over and you don't notify them, it raises suspicions. I'm sure they are notified on their computer when they run your tag.
