So on Friday I washed the Tundra and applied Hydro2 - very simple application. On Sunday it rained and after getting back from church I noticed a couple of places where light dirt had splashed on the paint - so used some Meg's quick detail and mf towel to wipe clean. It rained again this morning and of course the rain was beading like crazy - except for the spots I had used the Meg's on.

I'm assuming the Meg's removed some of the Hydro - is this normal and to be expected with detail spray? Steve - would the Merlin's Magic Elixir do this?

Question: on the next Friday or Saturday that it's not raining (did I mention I live in a rainforest) and I wash the truck - should I treat those areas again? Any issues with doubling up or overlapping?

I use hydro2 and I do my touch ups with merlins magic. Haven't noticed this issue with using that cocktail
Next week I'll be hydro2ing my truck after a clay and ironx decon
I think it's ok to use again in the next few weeks but it may be easier to just use some Reload in those areas, I believe they are similar sealants?
I'm sure Steve will have the correct answers though.

Thanks; I just haven't ordered the components for Merlin's yet, but will this week.

    You'll love it
I'll find some pics of a mid winter ech2o waterless wash I did and my recent merlins magic. When I do my full detail next week I'll use hydro2 and reload for sealants

This was ech2o. I didn't have reload at the time. In the future I'll probably add reload to the mix but just the ech2o works and looks great. This was essentially a waterless wash. I did have a bucket of hot water but no hose at all. Was probably 30 degrees when I did it. I also did it once in my garage without the water bucket. I liked the bucket method better, @SouthBoundSteve shared the bucket method with me of course

That's impressive - might prove handy next winter

So when you say you'll use Hydro and Reload for sealants - you will mix them or do one over the other?

I'll do the whole truck in hydro2 then touch ups with reload. Maybe one over another but I'll check with Steve on that

I use Reload over Hydro2 pretty consistently, with no problems. I also use the Reload / Ech20 mixture for my quick detailer most of the time.
On occasion, I use Meguairs Mirror Bright detailer. I haven’t noticed it causing any issues with the Hydro2 coating. That said, these guys make their stuff to work together, so some other brand products may interfere.

Steve, is there a problem with me retreating those areas with Hydro2?

hmmm.....don't know. What should I look for?

If I do a normal wash (honeydew) would that remove the Meg's?

Meg's says: "Caution Contains 1-propoxy-2-propanol, propylene glycol"

Best I can tell from google, 1-propoxy-2-propanol is an ether/alchohol.

Propylene glycol is closely related to antifreeze and is used in aircraft deicer.

Sounds like it's time to ditch the megs :(
    Stick with hydro2, reload, and ech2o :)
