Thinking of buying this 2005... got pics of undercarriage but I have to fly out. Anything too bad given it's 13yrs old?

Doesn’t look bad, especially with the new paint on the frame. What part of the west coast?

Some surface rust on the rear axle and places hear and there but seems to be fine. Nothing like a rust belt frame.

I've seen pics where they try to hide the rust. The spray coat separates and you can see the orange rust glowing like distant stars underneath. This is nothing like that. More like preventative or the frame call back where Toyota paid for it but ultimately a measure to maintain the original frame.

I noticed that too. Appears to be grease coming from the cv. He said it was recently lifted and the old clamps tend to wear out after changing the cv angle.

Update: After speaking with owner and coming to agreement on cash price, I told him I would buy a ticket in 20 minutes. He replied with information about the local bank and meeting when I got up there (Spokane Washinton). After buying the plane ticket and hotel room for a couple nights, I texted him pictures of the tickets and reservations. I made one call to him a couple hours later but he didn't answer or return my call. I called him again about 9pm last night and he tells me that a guy who looked at the truck a week ago, is coming in the morning at 9am to purchase the truck!!!!:mad: :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Dang, that really sucks... I'll be driving through Spokane in a couple weeks—if you give me his address I can go pay him a visit for you. :spy:

Seriously though, hopefully you can get a refund on the tickets?

    $19K For a 2006 or $24k for a 2005? Are you that much in love with a gen 1?

The 05 is definitely not in my budget so that's a no. That 2006 was incredibly clean with many expensive options such as 8 new tires and custom rims. In addition, California pricing on these trucks from local dealers here in Southern Cal is right around 19K for 160mileage plus. People from other places don't realize how it competitive it is here for these trucks. And finally I don't like the 2nd generation at all.

Yeah. CV axle. Mines been throwing grease for years and still going strong with no malfunction. Although, she is getting new ones (CV) put on soon since we are doing new struts, ball joints, etc.
