Got a pretty sweet "Predator" sticker on my back glass. Truxedo tonneau. AVS in-channel wind deflectors.
In the event that anyone (3rd Gen.) is considering an audio upgrade and has explored the JL Audio Stealthbox as an option, I just wanted to offer some feedback based on my recent experience.
I'm an avid JL Audio user and have been for years. Their subs, amps, and OEM interface products are of tremendous quality, sound, and value. I'm not a big fan of their component/coax speakers. I find they sound a bit "muddy"; I prefer a "brighter" sound.
At any rate, my local audio shop called me to come by and give the new stealthbox ( http://www.jlaudio.com/car-audio-stealthbox-toyota-tundra-crewmax-14-up ) a listen, as someone had recently purchased it and they were in the process of installing. They called me because I have been kicking around some options for my next audio system and we discussed the stealthbox as an option. This custom-fit unit houses two (2) 10TW3 subs.
The purchaser had a JL Audio Slash 500/1 amplifier powering the subs (JL recommends the 750/1 HD). After some quick tuning, we were able to pop in a CD and began listening. The factory head unit was being used, but no AudioControl LC~, JL FiX82, Recurve, etc. Basically just a LOC. I have to say, I was pretty impressed by the output of this setup. The low end was so, so smooth (White Stripes - In the cold, cold, night) and was more than an earful. With the proper power/wattage for these subs, I think this would satisfy most listeners that crave higher output systems. I am one of those people.
In short, the quality, fit, and output of this stealthbox is second to none. The price tag is a bit high but you can likely get it for a couple hundred less than what JL lists the unit for on their site ($1200). If you can get a discount (and you should versus the retail), the math comes out ok, depending on if you squint and turn your head to the proper angle while grunting. Each 10" sub costs about $300 retail (again, get your discount). That puts the super custom-fit box at about $400+, depending on your discount(s). A bit pricey for a box build, but JL puts some kind of pixie dust in them that makes them sound incredible!!
I may just get this stealthbox given what I heard. I already have the JL 1200/1 HD amp, the FiX82 OEM signal interface, and the JL 600/4 amp for the surround. I actually already have three (3) 10" TW3 subs brand new that I purchased at a good price. I may trade my shop for the stealthbox. Debating.
I hope this was helpful to one or more people. If I can answer any questions, let me know and I'll certainly try.

Good to know. I have a 500/1 amp and 2 12"JLw3v2's laying around because the won't fit. I would love to use the amp and pair up a pair of JL subs with it.

Price tag is hefty though, but JL is top notch! I may sell all of it and get one 10" and a smaller amp. Decisions decisions...

Yeah, I'm still torn as to what setup I will go with. In your case, consider keeping the 500/1 (if it is in good working condition, etc.) and power the single 10". The current 10TW3 subs can handle bunches of wattage (JL specs say peak 400, but they always err on the side of caution) and the extra wattage helps control the sub better than underpowering. To avoid clipping, the 500/1 should do very well.

I went with the Fox Acoustics box with a pair of Rockford Fosgate P3 shallow 10's and a Rockford Fosgate 1000watt monoblock amp (all out of my Tacoma) and it sounds amazing! Never had a ported box before and I'll never buy anything else now because it'll easily hit the lower bass notes that the same amp and speakers wouldn't when I had them in a sealed box in my Tacoma.

Good point. I do get a little worried about longevity if the sub is getting too much, but I won't be pushing them at all.

I'm going to contact Fox with regard to the box specs/materials (thickness of mdf, etc.). Any input?

I wouldn't know any specifications on it but it's very well built and the Line-X is a nice addition. I've blown boxes apart with this same exact setup in my Tacoma, but this box is still holding after almost 2 years.

I messaged Fox and response to my inquiries were as follows:
    Material is 5/8 MDF
Box is tuned to 35-36 Hz, depending on driver displacement

What did you end up doing?
Did you get the Jl box, or get one built?

I have a like new 500/1 amp and two like new 12"w3v2's in a box from a previous vehicle. Obviously the subs won't fit in the truck. Sound isn't really a priority right now, but I would love those shallow 10's!!

I will be replacing the hu with a pioneer avix5i00bhs, that subs if possible, if not I have a fosgate 12inch p2 shallow mount.. And eventually upgrade the door speakers.. Have not decided with what yet..only had the truck for a weak.
Question.. There's a grill in the middle of the dashboard.. Is there a speaker underneath that?

I don't have the amp under the seat, do I still have the plug for it? Is it under driver or passenger?
