    Hey Guys,

I know a number of newer trim levels (limited, pro etc) have illuminated entry system like foot lights and illuminated ignition rings. I was just curious what colour does the ignition ring light up?

I've tried searching online and through these forums but couldn't find an answer.

    Thanks and nice forum!

Welcome! I have a 2012 TRD Rock Warrior without the light so I can't help you there. Are you considering a swap to yours so you have the illuminated ring?

Thanks... The platform is nice and familiar here since I have an account over a TW. Yeah I'm looking to put an illuminated ring into a Tacoma. I see through some cross referencing that both trucks share the non illuminated version so it should swap over just fine, but not sure what colour the light is.

I don't actually have a Tundra, although the last year or so I've been keeping a close eye on them... They look pretty bad ass with some of the mods you guys do to them.

Mine does - 2014 limited. Like a blue LED similar to my interior LED lights.

Awesome thanks! I was hoping it would be blue but white would be my second choice. I guess I could always solder in a new LED if I wanted blue though.

I thought that I read that there are two options that you can have with the (Tundra) ignition. One is the illuminated ring. I can't recall what the other one is at the moment, but I want to say that it's a security function of some sort. I bet @LOTSOFTOYS knows. The same may or may not be true for the Tacomas.

The ring is attached to what Toyota calls a transponder amplifier. Basically it reads the information from the chip in your key. However the illuminated version does that too, but also has the light.

Learn something new. I've got a limited but never noticed the lighted ring. Once you find the hole, it becomes second nature where to stick your key!

I have 2010 SR5, off-road, and it has illuminated ring. Perhaps Toyota took this away and limited to the upper trims, sort of like the dual climate control.

It's just glow in the dark so probably not that bright. At $6 it might be worth a shot.

So I do not have an illuminated ignition ring. I can't seem to find anything online. Anyone heard of a mod/addition for this? If so, can you provide a link? Thanks!

You know if anyone sells an ignition system from a higher end model? Maybe someone that has different colors too? This may not be at the top of anyone's list for mods, but should be standard for any model IMO.

I feel like that's a service I should charge for.

Suspension is super plush! The rear kinda bucks a little from the AAL so can't wait to get the rear in order for the full effect
