What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Well, I don't have the Opt7s. Never heard about them until now. They look nice. Can only compare my GTRs to halogen and they are definitely a damn sight brighter. I paid 185 for the GTRs, so the price would be about the same. If the GTRs die an untimely death, I'll definitely give the Opt7s a look.

 

Whoa! Whoa! @Ron. Thanks for the compliment , but I'm not in the same league as @Steve or @Jim. I'm still learning, but I am learning from the best. To damn hot to do anything today. Staying inside with the AC. I still have to put to work what I've learned from @Jim, then will see if I was paying attention, haha

coolest mod of all... the weathertech windshield cover. fits perfectly edge to edge. only sun that gets in is by the rear view mirror...

now off to watch columbia vs poland..

 

Use glu gone auto and it comes off even easier

 

ardnutoz, Did you get the full vehicle kit or just the windshield?

 

Just the windshield, i may do the back half soon though. I dont have a garage and the right side gets direct sun for quite some time.

Knowing now that the fit and finish is great it will make sense that the other covers should fit just as nice. I think @4x4_Angel was looking at grabbing a set but dont know if shes pulled the trigger yet.

My little girl sits on that side and the car seat can be pretty hot around noon oclock.

 

When is the DisplayOffImage used? I uploaded the same image to my radio, and see the StartUpImage, but when I shutdown my truck the radio just goes black.

 

I want one that just rolls down or up so I don’t have this large awkward piece of tinfoil to put some where and the kids inevitably trample...

 

Did the “get your truck backed into while you eat dinner mod”. I dislike people sometimes. No note or anything. Now the truck has a crooked grin.

 

Do you want it to roll into the door like built in? Mine rolls or folds up and if done right will fit under the rear seat..

I put my current one under the back seat. I have no issues grabbing it when i park.... though i have pretty long arms and I'm tall

Here, I'll do it properly. Thanks to all of you guys, I could be missing a few others, but I owe u all a great deal of thanks for putting up with my ignorance when it comes to washing/detailing. Like I said before, I'm sure I'll have some more along the way. But at least now with the coating I'm starting with a clean slate and got all the essentials based on your recommendations and expertise/experience to do all my own washing/detailing myself. Still have a ton to learn and more products to get, but at least now with all your guys help I think I got myself to a good starting point and just enough knowledge to be dangerous.

It’s growing on me the more I look at it. Before the peel, I may Black the text of the 5.7 badge. Do the tag frames. Like I said, I can always peel it off and throw black on.

 

Imo I think adding black to the red 5.7 badge will help. I've seen others do it and it looks good. I dont remember 100% but i think they did black 5.7 badge and red text in it. Was that or vice versa. If that don't do it for ya try just changing the tundra letters to black if you like the red and want to keep. I'd have to see it but the mix of black red badge, then red limited, and black tundra might look good.

I don't think the red letters look bad now. I think it's just the all red 5.7 badge that's throwing it off for me. Hey bottom line, only u gotta like it.

 

If you do that i thunk it will look good.... that one badge in all red looks like a blob. Wjem you do it post it up! I wanna see!

 

That is what bothers me about it. I need to figure out how to make just the chrome red. On the 5.7 badge. May need to find someone with good hand painting skills. I’m like a crackhead when it comes to cutting in.

 

Maybe buying a set of the black overlays and doing it off the truck may help and if it doesnt work you can blackout what you have if thats your cup of tea...
