    Hello everyone.

Just bought my first Tundra yesterday (2016 Tundra SR5 TSS Crewcab) and love it.

Not 4 hours after driving it off the lot, I was taking some Pho (Vietnamese soup for those who aren't familiar) to the old lady at work, the container spills, and soup broth goes everywhere. I worked the best I could to get as much of it up but I still think I smell something. It could be the new car stage where I am babying everything but I thought a carpet shampoo wouldn't hurt.

Can anyone give advise if there are any wiring harnesses in the floor board that could be damaged by water?

I am not all that concerned by the quantity of broth that was spilled but I was going to rent a carpet cleaner (https://www.homedepot.com/tool-truck-rental/Carpet-Spot-and-Stair-Cleaner/9-840-068-0/index.html) to try to shampoo all the carpets while I am at it. Not sure if that would put too much moisture on harnesses underneath the carpet.

Any advise helps. Glad to join the group.

Welcome from Arizona. Not sure about the wiring on the floor but I'm sure someone will be along shortly to answer your question.

Your vehicle, the floors, wiring and carpet are designed to take cleaning from shampooing and wet from snow, etc. You should be fine shampooing your carpet, just allow the carpet to dry thoroughly before closing up all the windows.

But being that Pho is beef broth, it contains meat juices which could start smelling and growing bacteria if left alone. I'd definitely clean it up as soon as possible.

When I test drove the vehicle there were WeatherTech floor liners in it and when I picked it up yesterday they were gone. I don't think the dealership was trying to pull a fast one so it wasn't a huge deal at the time.

After the Pho spilled I was pretty pissed. I will be investing in the liners today.

    Thanks for the feedback

Weathertechs will be the best investment you can make...order some of their protectant while you're at it...the cleaner that they sell is not stellar...works about as well as any all purpose cleaner

Look at the Husky liners also. I think they are better than the Weather Tech.

After you shampoo carpet. Make sure you rinse it real well and get that soap out. Put fresh water down and suck it up with the carpet machine or shop vac. That way dirt won’t stick to the soap when it dries.

Thanks for all of the feedback!

Carpets have been cleaned, the smell is gone, and weathertech liners have been installed.

Must've had some bad Pho then lol. It's fantastic every time I've tried it.

Love Pho, was gonna have it after work last night but they closed early, love sushi, having Lebanese for lunch today, heck I love all kinds of food, surprised I’m not fat. I once choked on an apple and spit it all over the windshield, then I reflex turned the wipers on lol.

I’d be kinda mad if liners were in, then gone. At least now your good. I usually transport food in a cooler in the bed.
